Update: had an unfortunate incident, and the rear right rim has to be replaced (see picture) - none of the folks I've showed this to has ever seen something like this (the tire is perfectly fine, too...). I got a price on a replacement from a couple of dealers ($$$$), but they can't get an ETA on arrival for the replacement (and it's been over a week so far). Someone has reached out to the UK folks and no response from them.

I'm hugely disappointed in the level of responsiveness and service from the UK, the lack of availability of any replacements, and the price gouging that Aston is doing to their customers. I'm torn as I really love the car and the design of pretty much all of the new Astons and want to root for the underdog, but this experience has left a sour taste in my mouth with the company, and has caused me to change my mind on putting a deposit down for an RB-003.

If you use Twitter - tweet Andy Palmer with that picture and someone from Gaydon will get back to you very quickly.

I did this in 2017 to get the paintwork bubbling remedied on my 2009 V12V.

Good luck.

Oh, beautiful car by the way :-)

Thanks JohnG1 - helpful suggestion! Hopefully get something resolved so I can get back on the road with it.

CSK1 - unfortunate bump (think pothole-sized). Totally my fault, just surprised this happened to the wheel on that with no discernible damage at all to the tire or loss of air. What I fear the most is not getting a wheel for 3 months, which seems like a real possibility as I know someone who has been waiting for over a month for their set of rims (Rapide).

Make all the noise you can. It is much easier/cheaper and more valuable for AML to keep an existing customer happy than to go and chase a new one these days so their lack of response is unbelievable. Shouldn’t be that difficult to get a set of rims for a DBS. Good luck and continue expressing your frustration.

Thanks guys. I will say, Andy is quite responsive and takes these matters very seriously. I know they probably have some stuff to work on, but there aren't many companies out there with a CEO that is as responsive to their customers. Kudos to him for that, and sounds like the wheel is coming.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune and I hope this gets sorted. AML should treasure their clients, client satisfaction is key in any business these days
Indeed I can see Dr Palmer takes these stories seriously and does everything he can to find a solution.
Which other car company has its CEO so personally involved.
That's what we love about Aston Martin.
Please be profitable but don't grow too much.

I absolutely agree with most of your points. Unfortunately (or fortunately?), at this point as a public company, Aston has some responsibility to its public market shareholders and so will have to grow (and be profitable at the same time). Partially because it's a relatively small company, it is a great perk that Andy takes these issues to heart.

Interesting. Just FYI - the "Y Spoke" wheel design has been discontinued for DBS MY20. Maybe there is some construction weakness - just guessing, no data to support this.

Do you know this, or has it just gone from the configurator and you're putting two and two together and coming up with 5?

I have ordered my DBS two weeks ago and had the Y Spoke Design in the configuration. But the dealer got back to me and said that design is no longer available with MY20. You can order the new "DBS Volante" design or stay with the Lightweight Twinspoke Forged version. But no more Y Spoke.

I follow Andy on Twitter and saw your post from his reply a few days ago, sorry for the rim but all i could think of is the patina on the tyre from the hard cornering! Congrats for using it properly clap

Hope you get everything shorted soon!

It's getting sorted - Andy is awesome.

Also, I can't imagine having this and not using its full capabilities, it's just too much fun. I always make the joke that if you let anyone seriously considering one of these drive it on the track, they'd sell like hotcakes.

Did not like this design at all (like most other direction oriented / asymmetrical designs), but pity it is not still an option for the ones who do like it of course.

I like the new (Volante) wheel design much more, also for the Coupe!
