Aston Martin Rapide 2009
Discussion
Hi everyone! Im from malaysia and my dad about to purchase his first new Aston Martin and it is a Rapide (2009). Would like to know what are the things that we will need to look before purchase? Does the Rapide come with trickle charger when newly purchase?
Not sure does UK have this issue, based on malaysia technician (3rd party) shop said that in order to fix the car, it need to go to the authorize dealer (Singapore), otherwise it will not able to fix (referring if accident back or front need to replace. Even diagnose also need some from AM service centre.
hope anyone can help me on this

A trickle charger is an option for a new Aston Martin, but do not be concerned, because you can buy them for about £50.
Main dealers with their glass and travertine premises, are not the only repairers.
Maintenance of a Rapide should not be a problem, for people with the appropriate knowledge, experience and equipment.
Look what has been possible to build, in a just a simple ex-army wooden shed. A Formula One world championship winning car, which even the might of Ferrari could not beat.

Nothing unusual in what you say Kuto for any car - is your chosen garage able to read AM diagnostics? If not then stick to mechanical jobs only with them. Same, you choose where you are happy to have the car repaired - anyone can buy panels... AM uses some glue to join some panels so don't choose someone used to working on old Toyota pickups maybe... Great car btw

not quite sure with the local mechanics cause AM is not a very common super/luxury car in Malaysia. People tends to favor lambo or ferrari more, im not suprise even if these mechanic shop dont have much of knowledge about AM. I’m no expert, but I’m sure someone will be along to correct me.
If I were you, I’d go and ask the Aston Dealership in Etiqa, KL, if they have a service centre in Malaysia with AMDS. If the answer is no, then it would be reasonable to expect that at some point the car may need to go down to Singapore, because a simple thing like replacement of a door module requires coding via AMDS.
Wouldn’t stop me buying an Aston in Malaysia though

Haha im sure you are from Malaysia! reason being dint want to go to all these service centre, they tend to quote over price. Unless is a major issue, otherwise small servicing i dont think i will chose to go back to the AMDS.
