Yes. Built from a 73 Shovelhead. 120 miles and it must go. I keep tripping over it

I’m pretty sure I could manage to find some space for it if it needs a shelter bow, beautiful machine you have there.

Thanks- that’s much easier solution! Do you happen to have a recommendation or mind sharing any known solutions. I know they’ll be a few free standing options but I imagine there must be some options that are integrated into/ mounted onto the wall.

Thanks
Any 12kw or bigger will do. Get a plug’n play quick connect like ElectriQ or a professional fit system.
I’ve done both and had no problem. Bear in mind quick-fit and quick-connect are very different.
See quick connect on this. https://www.appliancesdirect.co.uk/p/eiq-12wminvqc...

If you look on the adobe link on my first post in this thread, there’s a pic of it in the showroom side.

great reference to appliances direct - thanks

I bought a 12000 btu unit from them saturday selected the quick connect type where external unit comes filled with gas and internal unit ready vaccumed, with a ckever conector that allows idiot proof connection without loss of either gas or vaccum, ie you can do it yoursekf

installed in less than 2 hours 0- just plugs into 13A socket - running immediately

temperature outside freezing ( zero degrees C)

select heat function (uses heat pump technology|) and my garage was a toasty warm 16 degrees within 20 minutes can go to 25 degrees but i was only looking to keep garage warm and dry

washed Astons outside , drive in garage and all dry within a couple of hours

great return for £500 and 2 hours of my time
for those interested - electricity useage
looks like approx £0.09 per hour at full heating

Two problems:-
16 degrees C is the lowest temp, ay have to ask for advice , or add a resistor to the tremp circuit
there is no scheduled timer option on this unit - however instructions say that in auto mode the unit will restart after power outage , so i can see a simple 7 day central heating programmed being installed between supply and unit thus gviing me full timing control

i guess you could connect to Hive or similar system to give control through the phone

there is a version listed with wifi and phone control but does not have quick connect feature
so would need vac pump and or F gas fitter to install

hope this helps anyone interested

Interesting, thanks.

Couple of questions: how much power does it use when running (lots of numbers given on the spec sheet - http://www.appliancesdirect.co.uk/pdf/ELQ-split-ai... ) to give your 9p per hour figure (what are you paying for electricity kWh)?

Even though QC, doesn’t it still require F-gas-qualified installation to keep the warranty?

More traditional as I live in the country. Haven't finished the floors or outside groundwork yet.

Hi Phil,
I am in the market for a garage, and yours looks great to me.
Any insight on the supplier would be fantastic (PM if you prefer).
Any help much appreciated.

Glad I could help, I'm just as happy as you.

I fitted a Tado to the wall next to it. Works brilliant!

A belated thanks from me too. Invaluable sharing and advice. I hope to share my own story as my garage build commences in the next month or so.

My rather messy garage. It's an original stable under the house, so it's 3.5 metres high. We had that mezzanine put in, with hinged stairs, and our wine cellar lives up there.

The Triumph has gone now.
