What the connection between the 'special' and TAG? TAG Hueur's logo is green & red so one would have thought a green car with red tyres would be more appropriate?
At give or take £300K and all but sold out, they appear to be enjoying considerable popularity Rich. I'll stick my neck out and suggest perhaps not so many buyers are 60yrs +. Edited by RichB on Thursday 24th January 16:37

ndeed, that may or may not be true but the age of the buyers or popularity of the car wasn't my point. I just couldn't see the connection between the spec' of this car with TAG and that's why I asked.
And my point is that the lack of any obvious connection appears in sales terms to be irrelevant,,,, so a bit of a mystery to me too. Edited by RichB on Thursday 24th January 16:37

I would have expected the wheels and tyres to be filthy as well?
The front wheels are self cleaning on the DB11 and DBSS models.
It was explained to me at the DB11 unveiling. It is all to do with some sort of spooky science.
'A gill-like vent is installed in each front wheel arch lining. Derived from the Company’s race cars, the so-called 'Curlicue' has the task to reduce unwanted front-end aerodynamic lift. It does so by channeling the high-pressure air from the front wheel arches through recessed apertures located behind the signature Aston Martin side strikes.'
I hope no one disbelieves the special powers of Curlicue (twisting something, or even possibly somebody) and thinks the magician's assistant has secretly washed that wheel and tyre. _ _

Dirt picked up by the tyres being directed along the side of the car, would really upset me, particularly after spending a quarter of a million pounds.
This problem first became apparent to those who attended the DB 11 launch events, because by looking down through the side vent, the tyre tread was clearly visible. Is reduced front lift at 150 mph really worth it, when the side of the car will so often be filthy?
Presumably the new Vantage, DB11 and DBSS, are all be prone to this.

It most certainly is, and thanks to them and SCD we had a good look around their facilities on Saturday. Quite a shock to see a new Vantage in a very stripped down state, a relatively small rear quarter bump had required what was basically the entire rear shell to repair, roof off, doors off, exhaust off.....
