I think spec'ing one's Aston is meant to be experienced in the show-room, they have all the colours and a cabinet full of leather samples, carpet samples etc. It's not something to be done on the basis of a glossy brochure or worse still based on a picture on the 'net! Rich...
All sounds very romantic but lets get back to the real world for a minute. Before one goes to the showroom it would be nice to see a few glossy photos of the car in different colours. In my experience different cars suit different colours and unfortunately my imagination is not up to the task of seeing this on its own. Just looking at a board of colours for me is not much help. The brochure should be far more helpful in this regard. At present the most helpful source is the internet.

Eh? thought I was being realistic, if your specing the colour of your Aston you must have been to the showroom, I don't understand...

quite agree, although when I was up there it was difficult visualising what some of the options and colour schemes would look like on the car itself. The lime stitching was relatively easy to reject though!
The tour around the production line helped with colours up to a point.
The colours in the first post in this thread of course don't look anything like the 'real' ones do in daylight etc.
Perhaps one of the 'design your own car' type bits of software would help (don't Vauxhall (sorry) and others do this now?)
Wait til you see my internal colour leather/stiching combo....... was told today order placed at factory now, so too late to change mind....gulp
Rich, good to see you've gone for a solid reliable modern product Congrats on your exquisite taste and may I be first to reserve some time with you for a photoshoot.
BTW, on a more serious note can I ask what lead time you have been given for delivery?
What color is the AMV8 pictured in the first post? My dealer insists it's Tungsten Silver and I'm sure it's not. I've got one on order, late Oct or Nov production, and that's the color I want but he keeps saying "Oh that's definitely Tungsten Silver, the James Bond color!"
It looks more like Mercury Silver or something like that. Whether or not Tungsten Silver is the James Bond color is meaningless to me, I just think it's too light. What is the color of the car pictured in the brochure (which is terribly uninformative BTW)?

I live in Dubai, there are so few Astons here that I can't even remember the last time I saw one. In fact, I think only two Vanquishes have been sold here and handful of DB9's and many of those get exported.
I'm buying the car to have fun, and not with the resale value as the deciding factor. Besides, Mercury Silver is probably popular because it looks so damn good on this car.
