That "future" is already here. Newport Pagnell Works have a mule DB6 running, Jaguar have done an E-Type.

The real killer will be the lack of petrol. Go find a VHS cassette, your VCR may still work, but the supply chain is gone...

Well I’ll let you know how I get on, not the best time to try and sell but testing the water. If it doesn’t sell by end of season I’m happy to keep into next year......

What do peeps think of this, would this attract you as a buyer??.......

Having bought one recently (so can speak as an actual buyer) I would have given your car some consideration. The colour and spec would have appealed to me, and the mileage is good, so I don't think you are too far off the mark, not saying I would have instantly jumped without bargaining however given plenty of other cars for sale at similar prices, and several of them have some room in the advertised price.

I ended up with something that had similar mileage to yours, but in a standard colour (black), standard seats, but 3 years younger and with an AML warranty for only marginally more, so not a lot in it.

Great write-up in the ad, Mako.

Any way to link to the Clark “Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful” video in the ad?

It’s a lovely car, no doubt, and cherished, clearly, but there are two franchise cars cheaper, one of which is 2 years newer, with AM warranty - which you need to consider.

Mako is unique, but probably only of any relevance to AM nerds like us. frown I hope you get the price you want, can you not keep it tucked away? Seems a shame to drop her after all this time.

Couldn’t give a rats arse what my V12SMR is worth.......it’s not for sale, and unless something goes horribly wrong for me, it never will be smile

If depreciation is “that” much of a concern, then don’t buy this type of vehicle I’d say, stick to leasing something where you know your exposure to the penny.

We’ll all be dead soon enough, we should all just bloody enjoy the fact that we’re privileged enough to ever have the chance to own these things in the first place, 99.9% of the planet never will be.
Well said.
Spot on...there to be enjoyed not locked in a garage! Free the Aston’s!

People,inc me, are crazy eh?
We buy something then don’t use it for fear of spoiling it. I do it with all sorts, even shoes ffs!
But your right. 4K a year is just keeping the car loose I reckon. I think that’s roughly what I will do in my V8...currently on 50k at 12yrs old.
However I will often use my van instead of the car(whatever it might be) so I don’t have to park it and be worrying.

I paid 68k for my V12V 5 years ago, it had 26k on the clock at that point, it was sold for more than I paid. Much like the DBS values, people talked up the prices themselves and believed it. However, I can't imagine they'll come down too much more from here.

It seems to me that prices have actually firmed up a little recently. I think prices had held rock steady for at least a couple of years and then at the start of this year they did definitely drop a bit (Brexit fears etc) coupled with a few more coming on to the market too - seems to be a natural correction to prices, not these suddenly depreciating and losing money.

Now it seems we're coming in to summer, there are a few for sale when in previous years there haven't been many but I think prices have stabalised a little more over the last month or so and can't see them dropping too much more from here. There is very little else out there at the price point they are now for the money - that engine, noise, badge, performance, looks etc - thery are hard to beat at the moment.

Unfortunately us Brits seem obsessed with mileage in the 2nd hand market so I do think lower mileage cars will actually start creeping again in price /hold good value
