Interesting bit of Aston Martin history but I'll pass - saw it at the Goodwood FoS auction a year or so ago...sure it was north of £300k?

Attended an all-British car show, put on by the Triumph club of CT. A few Loti showed up...

Service and first Mot, passed with flying colours. The journey home through the Tyne tunnel sounded so much better with the secondary decat pipes fitted.

Great weekend with Lady S in the Cotswolds - usual pretty villages visited but also a couple of towers and castles.
Saw 5 other Astons - all going the other way - and 3 drivers waved smile

Bamford Rose Twinplate Clutch and Light Flywheel package now in the car along with their 3way exhaust switch (replaces ccc remote) and updated clutch software.

OMG its good! No more nodding dog and when really going for it, its a sharp F1 style jab in the back. Torque seems improved as things just pick up and go. When lifting to change the gear is instantly selected and on downshifts no unsettling body jerks.

Once again Michael and team have worked wonders!

Sounds good - I’m very tempted to book my 4.3 in for the clutch upgrade and sports cats.

How does the 3-way switch work? I thought the exhaust valve was either open or closed (I have the CC remote also).

A really beautiful car Phil. A dateless registration mark for a timeless model. Perfect.

At the end of this month, the 4.7 will have been mine for 8 years. Dare not mention the mileage! I know, should drive more, but am trying. Did a one day 350 mile trip a couple of weeks ago.

CC remote = either permanently open, or factory setting (open 0 to 1500; closed 1500 to about 4000; open >4000)

3 way = as above, plus permanently closed.

Cheers for that. Think I’ll stick to my CCC remote as I can’t think of a time I’d want the valves permanently closed!

I am guessing that it might be helpful for anyone who makes very early morning starts near neighbours, or possibly those who have a modified exhaust system and want less noise, perhaps on a motorway journey (although thinking about that, the valves would be closed at those engine revs).

Well done on making good mileage in a terrific looking car!
I took a test drive in this below a couple of days ago, it`s really hard to do yellow tang justice with a camera, well with a cell phone at least. It is stunning, such a lively colour in the flesh, and for sure attracts a few more looks than Tungsten. wink

I had an amazing, and crazy day today. I am "finally" back in a V8 Vantage, now here in Germany. My mission, was to collect the car from its current (now previous!!) owner in Mannheim, some 2 hours away. However, the vendor has quite a fun hobby, and thought it might be a nice idea to bring me to the car...

For those of you on Instagram, there are a couple of videos from the day here: https://t.ly/3vg77

Amazing...!

Then, hopped into the car (wheel on wrong side obv) and drove back home on the derestricted Autobahn. Managed 250 kph, which is the fastest I have been in a Vantage, so that was nice smile

2007 Tungsten... MANUAL

Thread/review/pics/mods etc all to come and be posted here. So pleased to be back!! biggrin

Great story and welcome back! Looks nice.
You should have tried a little harder, I managed 306 KM/H (with the top down) on a (derestricted) motorway straight! smile

I hadn't realised you'd left the Cambridge area.

I had a couple of very happy years living in Germany in the mid 90's. Great quality of life generally. I hope it goes well for you too.
