So what have you done with your Aston today? (Vol. 2)

What have I done today? Been out in it with MrsC who hadn't driven it before, so she took the wheel.
What am I doing tomorrow? Arranging to get the kerbed front wheel refurbed.
The struggle is real! What am I doing tomorrow? Arranging to get the kerbed front wheel refurbed.
I am laughing but I feel you, I have avoided so far for a year having my GF driving the Aston. It's not she's a particularly bad driver, but she seems to lack any sort of width awareness that scares the living crap out of me.

Popped in to AM Nottingham to pick up a new head lamp level sensor and fitted it this evening. Simple job that should rectify my dancing headlights, but note to self, let the discs cool down a bit more when doing a job like this I nearly burnt my arm several times getting access to the sensor.
They had 4 second hand DBSS in stock ranging from £170k to £305k (OHMSS edition) makes me wonder who is it taking a £70k plus hit on depreciated on these? One of them only had a few hundred miles on the clock.

What a fantastic few last days.
I had friends driving from Stuttgart to Milano in a DB7 GTA, and I hooked up with Misterblu to meet them in an incredible hotel on the Como Lake.
Our two Astons together at Porsche Como, we wanted to take a look around ze germans while waiting.
The drive toward the hotel, taken from Misterblu's Vantage Roadster with a little cameo
Our arrival at Il Sereno, we started with a couple drinks while the DB7 team was exiting Switzerland. The place is, needless to say, breathtaking.
It was too dark to take pictures when the others arrived, so on to the next day: we went to AM Milano for a service on the GTA, then Misterblu's contacts organised us a test drive to the nearer Alpine center. It has been very interesting, the car was the sportier 292 HP version, very nimble, almost electrical in response but very comfortable and well built.
I then took everyone downtown Milan, we stopped by Larusmiani, a beautiful gentlemen's shop in Via Montenapoleone where I knew David Brown's 1964 DB5 Volante (finished in Caribbean Blue) was on display. I took just one picture since I was pretty excited and living the moment.
We then attended a white party at Bagni Misteriosi, a very nice pool downtown Milano.
The next day, we had lunch at Tagiura, a typical Italian trattoria who kindly reserved us the best parking spots .
Finally, after lunch we all went to the Museo Storico Alfa Romeo, where we crossed path with an unexpected Vanquish.
The museum is an absolute must if you are even remotely near Milan.
I left out some parts, like all the pics taken on the Furka pass in Switzerland by the DB7 team (I will tell them to sign up on here and publish them!), a impromptu photo shooting for Rivers & Vega, the gentlemen shoe brand owned by the passenger on the DB7, haggling with a South Korean guy on the street to buy his 1995 Jaguar XJR Supercharged inline 6 (quite a rare machine), a visit to Garage Italia, turning heads everywhere we went and all the food, the cocktails & beers and the car talks at 3 in the morning.
Misterblu, did I missed something?
Needless to say, if any of you are planning a road trip in Italy, I will be more than glad to do it all over again!

Looked like a fantastic trip, made a mental note of the Alfa museum that looks easy enough to get to from central Milan, last time we were there I filled my 'car day' with a trip to Monza, absolutely fantastic place, the history of the old circuit, a lap of the track in a Transit Van the park setting and the town itself looked lovely, found ourselves looking longingly in the real estate windows. It was, now we wait for you Dean! That museum is begging for a pro photographer; even with my not-really-cutting-edge-anymore iPhone X, lights, settings and frames are incredibly beautiful as you can see. I am sure the interior designer thought about how cars would look on social networks.raceboy said:

Yes, the museo is in Arese to be precise, super easy to get there with the same highway you take to arrive in Milan coming from north-west, the A8. Even the parking was quite interesting, with 4Cs, Giulia Quadrifoglios, vintage Giuliettas and cool non-Alfa cars all over.Misterblu, the PHer & owner of the Vantage Roadster you can see in the pics is actually from Monza, he was telling us that he lives basically IN the circuit.
