So what have you done with your Aston today? (Vol. 2)
Discussion
Just had Paddy from here spend a few days detailing the paint on my V8V. It's now a very, very shiny Aston .
Action picture of work in progress (he had no idea I took this).
The downside? He'll show you that your paintwork is far worse than you thought it was. The upside? He'll fix it. The man's a machine.

I removed the plinth ages ago , saw a car on here with a small number plate so ordered one.
I’d fixed the full size one with double sided foam pads , I must have spent an hour getting the plate then the residue off before sticking the new one on.
I’ve put the old front plate in the boot incase I ever get stopped by Spike from the interceptors
Nothings says “I’m guilty” more than carrying the legal plate in the boot!I’d fixed the full size one with double sided foam pads , I must have spent an hour getting the plate then the residue off before sticking the new one on.

If you’re ever stopped just be nice and plead ignorance, blaming the really helpful guy at the number plate place who said it was fine and that you’re really sorry you didn’t check.
Booked my V12VS in to get the infotainment updated to AMi iii. Not cheap, but I decided to spend the money I didn't spend on petrol this year. And also the money I didn't spend on going on holiday, out for lunch, on sandwiches, dinner, cheeky pints after work and probably some other stuff as well. It'll also be getting a service and its second MoT.
December will be expensive.

thinking of getting mine done stratas white, who did them Voodoo?
I am based just outside Glasgow and the paint shop was recommended to me.They currently have a stunning GT12 in for some work.
I couldn't find the AM factory yellow colour code, so went with Ferrari Yellow
[quote=Emilio Largo]I had my graphite aluminium tread plates PPF´ed with XPEL “Stealth” (using their pre-cut templates) and the sill plaques with XPEL “Ultimate Plus” – hence preserving the original look as best as possible.
Is the ppf on the sill you used coloured, i.e. would cover up scratch marks? Would you mind sending a link for it, I had trouble finding what you used on their website. Thanks

No, it´s clear as you see in my photos and it will definitely not cover any scratches that are already there. I have two of the tiniest dots/scratches on the driver´s side (very hard to detect) and the PPF did neither camouflage nor enhance their appearance.
This is the XPEL product line-up (indeed a bit difficult to find):

Having made contact with the local wrapping company now I am again in two minds about PPF´ing the whole front of the car. The stonechip in the windscreen this summer was certainly a wake-up call as the windscreen had to be replaced (felt really sorry for my insurance company). A wonder the stone didn´t hit the paintwork.

Woke up to a very white outside world, so post toast and flat white, into the garage to put the winter rubber on. Short drive in the afternoon, that lack of traction can be some fun! #walterrohrl
Funny old world. 500 miles further north, and lovely sunny warm weather here today.
When we do get snow, which seems rare now, there is usually travel chaos. No one is used to it.
Enjoy your rally driving Dean.
Thanks Jon! The seasons are certainly not providing the consistent weather as in the past. Yesterday we had more snow than all of last winter, where we only got lightly dusted three or four times. Conversely, in 2018 we had days with 25-30cm.
This was yesterday. Unfortunately the Audi was left outside... amateurs!

Sigh - I remember the first snow as it was some 15 years ago...I would always stay extra-late in the office just to wait until the traffic chaos had cleared - and then taking the long route home on white roads through empty winter-wonderland, lights ablaze and tires slipping...Mr.Tremlini said:

Funnily enough, turning the page on the calendar yesterday we were treated to the sight of your car looking lovely in the snow. raceboy said:

In Milan too we are having snow.
Anyone has experience on driving the Vantage in snow? How is it? I don't plan to, but you never know.
It`s a rear wheel drive with lots of power so you can get into all sorts of grief, but if you treat the accelerator wisely it is like any other car on snow. Of course it depends a lot on your tyres. In my experience, if you`re on racey, minimal tread-pattern summer rubber you are going to struggle to go in a straight line, let alone around corners. On Sottozeros or similar, it`s totally manageable. Anyone has experience on driving the Vantage in snow? How is it? I don't plan to, but you never know.
Of course the new Aston Martin anti-gravity system is the real answer here...
