Lovely, I was there too in my V12VSMR at the same time yesterday. Looks cracking in that colour, is it Flugplatz or Elwood (I'm guessing Flugplatz) ?

How was that RR Dawn parked just behind you (and DB11 Volante too don't forget) biggrin

Yup, looks lovely in that colour - really suits the new Vantage.

Ceramic Blue seems to be the similar colour on the new V8 Vantage.

Here's one to compare https://www.astonmartinnewportbeach.com/inventory/...

Stunner, one of the best new vantage pictures I have seen.

Cheers guys! It's Elwood blue, slightly darker than Flugplatz and does change slightly in different lights, it can look almost turquoise or teal in some lights, and anywhere from a deep blue to a baby blue in others. If I ever get a comment about the car it's always the colour!

I had the wheels re-done in gloss black as it looked a bit naff with the previous silver diamond cut finish. The pic below shows exactly why I didn't like them - from a distance it makes the wheels look massive and there's no silver anywhere else on the car, so it just didn't look right. Worth every penny!

Your V12S looked great, we were sat on the benches watching as you pulled up. There was also a perfect spec Vanquish S if it belonged to anyone on here, I was admiring it for quite some time.

I'm biased, but the n420 is a good choice from the model range, I think. The one from McGurks?

Trip to Brands Hatch today to watch grandson on the Junior Drive present we bought - mini's on the GP country horseshoe bit plus a quick shopping trip on way home.

Earlier in week had a blast down to the desert of Dungeness for a beer and chips, so quite busy.

Good to see an Aston leading the field yesterday - maybe paying Kimi as an ambassador for AM would be better value than Seb wink

Well , i Had a great weekend but managed to mess up the actuation of my drivers side wing mirror. It would wirr away but do nothing. I tried a few things and discovered that if you fold it out when the car is locked, unlock the car the wirring will happen then a click and it engages the mechanism again so all is good agin. I hope this helps someone with a similar problem someday.
1. lock the car, the mirror stays out.
2 rotate the mirror to its normal position when the car is unlocked.
3 unlock the car and presto it clicks back into action.j

Definitely prefer the full black wheels too, goes a treat with the Elwood Blue.

I thought so. I bought mine from there, I think it was their previous n420. How are you finding it?

Loving it! I was really wanting a manual (read all the threads about manual v SS and SS generally regarded as marmite). Anyway after having watched the market for 8 months and either just missing out or not being prepared to buy during lockdown I decided that if a car of the right spec came up I'd go for it irrespective of transmission.

Had a test drive of the car and decided I could live with SS. After 200 miles I'm really getting tuned in to the driving style for SS and would actually say I prefer it over the Vantage manual set up

Glad to hear it! I spent a long time looking for the right car, and although I didnt originally SS I was prepared to try it if the other things were in place. I test drove a SS V8S at the same as my manual and would have been happy to have that gearbox, but left with the manual. I can see the advantages of either.

Attended a car gathering / coffee meet at Prudhoe, Northumberland - good turn out of varied cars. Enjoyed it + thanks to who ever organised it

Popped up the Mountain again on a glorious Autumn morning. As mentioned its about 40kl up to the coffee shop and if you go back the short way about 20kl down. They have just resurfaced the road so it is quite good with some 20kph signed downhill corners.

The Vanquish handled them well but near the bottom i heard a slight grinding noise and remembered a post on here re pebbles getting stuck in either the caliper guard or between caliper and disc. I pulled over quickly and reversed about 10 mtrs wenr forwards again and it obviously popped out. I checked the discs and couldn't see any scoring I was going through a tight rh bend on a bit of loose stone tarmac at the time. Here.s a photo with the hills behind.

Managed to get out for a bit when the hangover had subsided. Stopped off to collect a mate in his 911 and grabbed a picture.

Found a great place that's started pitching itself as a motoring venue (B_Road Hunting Club). If you're in the south east it's worth a visit.

I really like the use of the blue filters/enhancement to make the car pop while rendering the background in sepia tones. The clue is in the enhanced blue of the glass of the other car on the left

I made some cosmetic changes to my car today purely for vanity purposes. The CF slam panel looks fantastic and was very easy to fit. I had some minor snags with the CF gear lever surround but I got there in the end. I’ve never really liked the standard metal item and I think the CF one looks much better. The final job is to fit CF side strakes and new black meshes. My hands are too big to do it myself as it’s a very awkward job, so I’ve asked Grange Brentwood to do it for me next week when my car goes in for a service and MOT. Thanks to Michal and Irmina at ECPS for the CF parts, and to Tony for the new inspection plate. I’ve included some before and after pictures.

Best Regards

Minglar

I quite like the slam panel and getting my name on the inspection plate. I think your post may have cost me some money.
