Struggling to get more than 5 hours sleep thinking about it, let alone trying to stop looking at it! The better half gave out to me for physically drifting away mid-conversation to go to the window for a gaze hehe
You’ll get over it.

In about 5 years or so…

Not sure they needed the white gloves to hold the trophy, it's a not a Tudor manuscript rofl

Nice to get to see that sort of thing though. I'll be there on Monday, although not sure it'll still be there then though.

These things often look better when left in the state they were on the day (finger marks and champagne spills included). I remember seeing the 2017 Le Mans winning Vantage on display, still sporting the bug splatter and rubber marbles from the race. It looked much better for it.

Decided to use the DB11 to drop my daughter off at rowing training at 6.30am this morning. It has been sitting looking sorry for its self in the drive for a few weeks so I thought it deserved a short outing rather than using the Up! Pulled out onto the A4 from a side road after dropping her at the boathouse and realised I had a new model vantage behind me - the front looks quite aggressive in your rear view mirror. Then I heard an Aston V8 rumble and realised I had a VH Vantage roadster next to me as well. We had three black Aston’s driving along in formation for a minute or so in the early morning mist and then one by one they peeled off at different junctions. Nice way to start the day.

Serendipitous.

I'm just shy of a week into ownership and haven't yet worked out the etiquette. Do I flash hello at an Aston coming towards me, or do I give the index finger off the wheel salute? Do I try and catch the eye of another Aston driver going alongside and give a subtle nod, or, much to the despair and embarrassment of my girlfriend in the passenger seat last weekend, do I put the window down and stick my arm out for a big thumbs up?

I feel like I should be attending classes.

The correct greeting is to place one's right thumb on one's nose, whilst wiggling one's fingers and sticking out one's tongue. Practice in the mirror first. You can submit a YouTube here for us to check your technique.

The guy that actually picked it up for me said he didn't know what it was made of but it felt solid and heavy. If it is silver then the gloves may have been intended to prevent acids on the skin etching it...or be part of the theatre.

I think you may have missed it. If I recall it was only there until that afternoon, but I could have mis-overheard. biggrin

I’m 4-5 years into aston ownership and never get a wave back from other astons. So I’ve given up bothering.

I've noticed this also, so now I just give an appreciative nod.

I sometimes gat a flash of lights but then wonder if that's a friendly greeting or advice that they can see flames or bits fallen off

Vpr, nice V8 Vantage!

Me too, occasionally wave outside of London but in town everyone is too focused on not hitting the delivery mopeds, cyclists and mad pedestrians to take your hand off the wheel !

I had the driver's mirror stalk paint blow off while air drying it (bugger).

After looking at the faffing around involved in getting them off either by myself or a workshop, plus time away from getting re-powder coated.
I decided to attempt to mask it off, rub it down and respray it.

Quite chuffed with the results.
