Got back from Sardegna!
But before that, MisterBlu and I went to the Lago Maggiore to visit an old school independent mechanic. He was specialised in Ferrari and Porsche, but we started to inquire if he could also work on AM. If so, he could very well become the first Italian independent AM shop!
For the trip, we also switched our cars, so I got to try how is life with a 4.3 Roadster, while he tested out my 4.7 with a firmer ride, since I have the Sport Pack as part of the N420 mods.
A great day!
I'm drawn to the interior of the Blue Volante ... its identical to my coupe and not often seen in that colour. Two gorgeous cars though. But before that, MisterBlu and I went to the Lago Maggiore to visit an old school independent mechanic. I need to get mine cleaned and photographs taken.
By the way, if anyone can point me in the direction of the little elbow pad that fits in the cup holder of the 2008/2009 Vantage in tan leather please let me know, I cant find one anywhere.

Looks amazing EVR!
Unfortunately, my heart is somewhat broken, as someone has had the shame and malice to steal my front and rear badges.
It's really upset me, but at the end of the day it's badges, the car is fine (no scratches, even) and I have my health, but come on
I don't suppose anyone here has a spare set for sale etc?
"This is why we can't have nice things..." etc
WTF, why? what is wrong with people?Unfortunately, my heart is somewhat broken, as someone has had the shame and malice to steal my front and rear badges.

Fu** Me if I had seen them I would have beaten the crap out of them. On the plus side at least no damage. People are so ugly and dishonest these days. Parents are to blame. I would never ever think of doing such a thing.Unfortunately, my heart is somewhat broken, as someone has had the shame and malice to steal my front and rear badges.

28 years ago I had an antique white db6 (wish I had it now) with blue leather upholstery and was parked briefly at the local west rugby club and some scum bag keyed my rear guard. It was so deep it went through about what seemed 2 mm of paint. I couldn't just paint the rear guard as it was guard roof other guard to get it perfect so I finished up painting the whole car.
Touch wood apart from a door dent that's the only unsupervised damage i have had for many years.
My heart bleeds for you.

I had a similar, very irritating piece of vandalism happen to my DB9. Both of the headlight washer covers came off, I very much doubt it was a coincidence that they both came off on the same day.Unfortunately, my heart is somewhat broken, as someone has had the shame and malice to steal my front and rear badges.

Just out of interest, I think your wheels would have originally looked like this.
After getting my car back from the paint shop, had some finishing touches to attend to. The wing strakes I removed so they did not get damaged and now refitted after removing the front wheels, wheel arch liners and all the emissions gubbins stored behind the wings.
The original black plastic front grille had been replaced with the stainless shiny mesh version which I'm not keen on. So removed the mesh and bought a sheet of satin black anodised expanded aluminium mesh (Car Builder Solutions), cut to shape (easy using scissors) and fitted to the frame which I had sprayed satin black using Rust-Oleum (B&Q).
That just left the undertray to refit which went surprisingly well.

I have finally been able to fit my new front splitter. The original one was damaged on the underside so not noticeable but this allowed me to search for something else.

We had a great day with wonderful last of winter weather and headed west of Brisbane to the Brisbane Valey and scenic rim area near Kingaroy about 2 hrs drive from our meeting point at the Coffee club (sponsorship please) at Beerwah just shy of an hour north of Brisbane. It was a busy shopping centre car park so nails were chewed however thankfully no door dents or scrapes.
We had a great drive through some great farming areas and arrived almost without incident. The only near incident as we were motoring along at a sensible speed was an idiot motor cyclist who decided to pass us, 4 cars , he was doing about 200kph on a dual carriage way heading on a straight up a slight hill where at the summit there was a left hand bend. We watched him drift way over to the right on the slight curve and fully expected him to launch into the bush. There was a 4wd coming the other way and luckily the driver was awake as he had to drive off the tarmac onto the verge to avoid hitting the bike. How he missed him is amazing.
We ventured on adrenaline pumping and almost arrived at our destination which was up a dirt road. Infamous Bob was quite concerned as his DB11 was a virgin to such surfaces but he was persuaded the 600 mts was not that bad and the surface was good.
We arrived at the Dusty Hill Vineyard for lunch (i had been there before with Graeme from this forum) and yes the name is apt as the drive was dirt the car park was dirt and the wind was blowing.
A fine lunch was provided from a wonderful restaurant and the wines were excellent. I had an excellent Seafood Chowder with a hung dried Shiraz that was excellent.
Actually all the meals were fantastic for a country estate.
Here are a couple pf photos. Arthur our local President did a great job in arranging and it is always a pleasure meeting new friends.
