So what have you done with your Aston today? (Vol. 2)
Discussion
After 5,000+ kilometres round trip back to blighty including a full service at AM works, gave her a good clean and put her in the garage.
Just love this car...
It is great the way the car makes other people's days..
My brother in law's neighbour insisted I park it on his drive so he could clean every day during our quarantine...
A young lad (5 year old) neighbour of my son in cornwall who rushed out to see it when we pulled up and a couple of teenagers on hayling Island who saw it from the bus and walked about a mile to come and see it close up...
As owners, we are so proud of these shared experiences.

Beautiful car, like you say we owners are lucky. The cars seem to get universal love unlike many other brands.Just love this car...

Having seen your registration mark Stig, I was going to ask how you get along with the overall 40 mph speed limit in Jersey.
It is strange why there are so many high performance cars there.
Only need 1st gear.
However, your profile shows Norway, so I expect you are able to occasionally enjoy the power, when safe to do so.
Yes, there’s a lot of nice cars here that’s for sure. I love the Jersey to Norway drive and know it like the back of my hand. It’s like a good overnight session on the PlayStation.
Quickest I’ve ever done it was in a 74 Beetle.
Left Oslo 11.45am on a Wednesday and was sitting in the Cinema in Jersey at 6pm on Thursday. Hit every green light and ferry perfectly. Looking forward to the borders opening up soon and repeating the journey in the Aston.
However, in my view the worst roads are in Germany, seems they’ve paid for all the other roads around Europe and let theirs go a bit.

Drove from Suffolk (home) to the Borders yesterday and today from there to Lairg.
Yesterday’s drive was boring, today’s A9 was not as bad as it could have been and the A835 / A837 from Inverness up were magical, very few caravans or motor homes and from Ullapool onwards roads deserted!
Another 800 miles on it to get here and another 800 on the way home.
Tomorrow a Munro.
Nothing but love for the car everywhere and no aches after 14 hours in the car in 2 days (thanks lightweight seats).
PS when this is the view from your hotel room why would you go anywhere else?

Took my V8V to Aston Installations for them to fit their £30 TPMS defeater which means no more annoying / lying tyre system fault messages… what a nice bunch they are too. Stopped for a pic on the way home.
I have the same thing fitted, it takes a mere 30 seconds. Easily reversible if you or another owner wanted to go back to them.Lovely car, lovely photograph.
Took my car yesterday to Phoenix AM (Paul Hill) for a service with gearbox oil change. Amazing what you learn from a visit and hanging around the unit.
I wasn't aware Phoenix is the areas agent for Aston Installations, I have seen this advertised by either them or AI. Pauls back ground in Astons was with Lancaster's, then Spellbound cars in Farnham and also Nicholas Mee. He has worked on the Vantage race cars from a few years ago and actually has the bonnet of the series winning Vantage.
Having been trading for just over 12 months, he has managed to build up a very good customer base.
His attention to detail is very good, every bolt being put back with some grease to enable easier extraction next time, a measure twice, cut once approach, test drive to make sure of now leaks, a health check making sure everything work from lights through to full systems check and after watching him work.
I'm sure many will say this is how franchised dealers work however, I am told much of the extras Paul and other Indie's do are not catered for on the time sheet on franchised dealers.
For all future work I will be using Paul as his prices are very good in comparison to others and his attention to detail is certainly up there.

Rob F what made you change from a DB11 to a DBS?
Hi Paul,I thought the DB11 was a great car but for me personally I always felt the DBS was a bit of a dream car that I wanted to eventually own. I would say hands down that the sound of the NA V12 in the DBS is much more of an "event". I also think it is still a stunning looking car from every angle and whilst I am a big fan of the looks of the DB11, from some angles it's not quite as strong an overall package (just IMHO). The other main reason to change was the interior - you can't beat the understated simplicity of the DBS and while the DB11 does have some nice aspects to it, I really found the design of the centre console a real let down - they really need to change that screen.
Final thing which was a bit more of a personal circumstance - I got into the DB11 on an attractive PCP deal which at the time worked well for me, but coming to the end of the agreement I felt that it probably wasn't a "keeper" and so finally trying the DBS felt like the right choice / right time.
