Had a great run out this morning along the North Devon coast at 07:00, found a lovely cafe for breakfast then back home. 120 miles there and back, its on top form and running really well. Couple of shots of it from this morning.

No, Surrey. Didn’t stop to think that there’s more than one Earlswood Lakes.
Nor did I, which is why I asked, especially as your profile says you are Surrey based. Seemed an odd place for someone to run out to from Surrey, and two hours would imply some .... determined helming. biggrin

As an aside I took my Vantage out shopping today and, leaving one village down some twisty B-roads en route to a farm shop I was fortunate to be behind a Bullitt-era Mustang GT fastback in a in a slowish-moving line of traffic. I know we all love the sounds Astons make, but there was something almost primeval about the woofling growl that USA muscle car made every time the driver opened the taps. .cloud9. I now have Lalo Schifrin's "Changing Gears" as an earworm

I started clearing the "debris" thats amassed behind the DBS in the garage. The weather here has been miserable for months so motivation was low, with a renovation ongoing too, the space behind the car has collected some junk. Skip run on Wednesday and I hope a drive Thursday smile

Here's a link where you get to watch the cars while listening - I think the context helps the music

Yep, your YouTube link is far superior. It's a great piece of cinematic music - but it attains its zenith when accompanied by the visuals (and the sound of those V8s).

Gave my new DBX it’s first wash today. It was covered in orange Saharan sand from the rain a couple of days ago. Washing it makes you realise how big it is ! Hand drying something that size takes while, however there is nothing like washing a car to make you appreciate all the curves and little details.

When I started drying it I realised that there was a stripe of sand down the middle of the roof where I couldn’t reach it from either side (I am 6’4”) so it looked like the first DBX with an AMR stripe !

Off to Loseley Park tomorrow morning to do some off-roading in a DBX so didn’t want to arrive looking like I had sneaked in a lap of the course before we started.

Enjoy your day.

There will be a gathering of Aston Martins at that same venue, on Sunday 5th June 2022.
Unfortunately, I was disappointed to discover a diary date clash.

Yep the DBX is certainly a beast! Did you put the car in access height mode first? I'm 6'4" too and can just about reach the centre of the glass. Although I appreciate we may have ehight in different areas (wheyyy).

Added illuminated door handles to an early DB9 Volante

The early DB9s have the slots for the LEDs to shine through but don't have the LEDs or the wiring.

That’s a good tip, didn’t think to do that. I managed to stretch over and clean the middle when I realised, it was just I did both sides and hadn’t noticed I had missed the middle since it was wet first time. I think the car I used off-road this morning will need a bit more of a clean though.

Same here ... Yours looks lovely.

Took mine out today for the first time in several weeks. Every journey no matter how mundane feels special.

The opposite of here in Milan, the last rain has been probably 3 months ago. Pretty weird honestly.

Anyway, happy motoring weekend!

Got the V8V back from Aston Engineering and while the weather was good, I decided to have a tinker

1) tried and failed to get the flexi ventilation hose out from the n/s dashboard the one that feeds into the door) - ventilation fan housing is just too big to see past, so I baled out and put it all back together
2) improved the parcel shelf “droop” by shortening the cords
3) sprayed the bonnet vents - they had bleached to grey and looked a bit rubbish. Smooth Hammerite fixed that
4) found a previous owner’s credit car under the passenger seat - only expired a couple of months ago….
5) went for a drive - nice to start exploring the handling on dry warm(ish) roads
