any recommendations of places to go or see off the beaten track , im off up the highlands on sunday for my 1st long trip since owning my v8 vantage

I would recommend the whisky trail for driving more than the nc500, not exactly off the beaten track mind.

In the boarders you also have the road from moffat to Selkirk. Superb drive and scenery.

As for the 500 the drive itself is almost 100% eyegasmic.

If you like a walk and caves the bone caves near Ullapool are great.

Also always liked the drive up to Oban through the Trossachs.

I'm not a local so I'm sure there is much better places to go from a driving perspective.

Brought mine down to the middle of France from North of England. Over 2 days and 1300 km and some awful weather.
Now all clean with the 10illion bugs removed

Ferry was quiet and roads empty !
Cruising at 105mph on autoroute was so relaxing and bagged 29.4 mpg too. No cars, perfect road surface and nice weather in a super GT Aston.....Happy days.
Passed a few racecteam trucks near Le Mans yesterday though weather forecast not great for Saturday

You're right about the roads here in France, a shear pleasure to drive on virtually empty roads.
Oddly, I have never seen another Vanquish 2, apart from mine, either in the UK nor here. The French love it.

Off for an hours drive to St Saturnin next Friday for the show.

Weather is bad this weekend but looking good next week.

How exciting for you Graeme! If you ask the dealer the ship name you should be able to track it all the way in online. I will be most interested to hear your review of it once you get a chance to have a little seat time.

Def not many Vanquish gen 2 on road's around here.
Yesterday I started mine at the supermarket and just about brought a small child to tears.( her dad laughed though)
Then an old lady with a stick in the village just pointed with her mouth WIDE open. Filling up just now a man driving past decided to stop his van (&the traffic) so he could watch and this is on top of the usual finger pointing and camera phone stuff ??
The car is definitely getting more attention here in rural parts of France than she does back in her homeland. 1 man came over today to tell me he saw me on the autoroute 2 days ago so I won't try going under cover around here. This car isn't quite drab enough to blend in laugh

Against my better judgement it had been living outside for the last month under a half cover so it was covered in Sahara dust and sand. It desperately needed a full on shine up! biggrin

Yeah you got to wait till pay day lately just to even think about filling up.
I've put near £400 in the old girl within the last week (we are on holiday with her) but still these silly V8s and V12s need to be fed smile

Ok what a pity but as suggested I will meet you along the way. I have a well traveled stainless water bottle after all.
