So what have you done with your Aston today? (Vol. 2)
Discussion
Thursday did some enhancement detail on it, basic protection for now. I still need to coat it really. The wheels are still dirty though...
Friday did a run to Canterbury to pick the wife's friend up and bring her back to our bbq (after being robbed for fuel...).
Today is a day off for him and can stay in the garage.
Sunday- going to clean and coat the diffuser section in Gtechniq crystal serum as i dont fancy getting cold and wet every wash time. The body will be getting gyeon can coat though, when I have an opportunity. I have used lots of coatings, but I like to chop and change too often.
Monday - it pops back to AM dealer, my reduce oil level warning came back on, oil level is spot on though and it has had a new sensor. I suspect the combination of my garage, reversed in and sensor location is meaning it is kicking off. Nose in it is fine.
For those with the new vantage that have suffered or are suffering then the oil level sensor is right on the front of the sump, off side...in the right circumstance on a incline then the oil clearly pools at that corner....hence the light.
Need to top the coolant up at some point it is about half way, but I would prefer it at max. That being said the level has settled a little bit more.
Overall, my first few weeks of ownership have been a brilliant one, even with the oil level sensor issue x2 I love it and have done 600 miles....

Took our Aston for a spin to our local Ferrari restoration company for an open day last weekend in the name of irony. It was a lot of fun though! We were supposed to be going to the jubilee concours tomorrow but left it too late to book tickets unfortunately.

Many hours of prep and polishing of my new (to me) Virage. Ceramic coated using Gtechniq Crystal serum light and exo v4.
Hard work and a long job to correct and prepare the paint, but such a great finish now. Well worth the the effort.
I also re fitted my wheels that have just been re finished at Lepsons. Finish is flawless. Highly recommend.

well, it wasn't today, it was last Autumn, but certainly one of those rare 'moments' you remember....
This was a completely chance encounter with a DB5 which turned onto the same back road I was waiting to get onto. The sun was low and even the song playing was by chance from the year mine was built. We stopped for a chat in the next village, the owner was a very nice chap.
aplogies for the quality of the vid, it's just what I pulled out of the dashcam.

It's moments like this that are so special. I chased a vanquish round the north coast 500 past month for about 20 miles. He turned infornt of me going the other way round so I decided to go the wrong way for a bit. Glorious drive. Great car, tunes and experience.
My wife and Beryl (the car) enjoying the rural life around France.
Me and Beryl now
And the above is Beryl on her own and YES the built in sat nav is rubbish on lots of occasions she has either taken us or at least tried to take us down tracks like the one in the pic.

Great.
I noticed your courteous gapping.
Wish everyone who followed me, did the same.
