So what have you done with your Aston today? (Vol. 2)
Discussion
Put new front discs and pads on the Vantage. Turns out it was loooong overdue, as the "warp" was actually down to some serious pitting
Took the opportunity to blow some of the budget on some two-piece discs from RB Rotors - they certainly look the part
And my mild OCD and love of symmetry realy appreciates that the rotor mounting pegs line up perfectly with the gaps in the 20-spoke wheels
Not had a chance to use them in anger yet, but for now, it's nice to use the brakes without any judder

As the weather is so nice at this time of the year the AMOC planned a winery lunch however as the Chef contracted Covid the plans went to putty so we went for a picnic instead.
There were about a dozen cars here is a pic of our President DB2/4 with mine behind and a new V8 Vantage in rear.
it was a sedate drive but good company.

Dropped the V8V off for its annual service and MOT. Of course, it wasn't on the system (I used the online booking function a month or so back) which caused some confused faces.
Then got a call this afternoon asking if I wanted the MOT doing as well because it had run out over the weekend.
It's the little things that make the ownership experience so delightful.
I mean, wut?

Hi Cold,
I have ceased using on line systems, booked the Vanquish in for a wheel alignment 2 weeks into the future called the day before and got "what booking", enquired with Bridgestone online re tyres for the V and it took 3 weeks for them to get back to me did the same with Pirelli, no reply. Put 2 enquiries in with Bamford Rose re headers etc and importing them for my car and that was 2 years ago, still no answer, not even an acknowledgement. to be honest what is the point of having online stuff if no one even bothers to reply or look at it.

Agree with the challenges of online booking...
Last year I booked my vanquish into AMW (online) many weeks if not months in advance as I was coming from Europe and had a schedule to keep.
I (fortunately) checked with them a few days prior to arrival to hear them say they had no record of my booking - even though I had an email response to confirm.
They eventually found the booking and were able to fit my car in...
servicing was ok - but I wont be rushing back...

Yesterday in a surge of autoelectrical expertise I fitted the famous CC loud button.
Interestingly, not only does it make driving it more of an 'experience', but I don't seem to mind the crashy ride so much when it's louder. Noise and being jolted around seem to go together I guess...!

Yep, I get that. But I booked using a link they had emailed to me! I've also used it in the past with no issues, it's just that this time I filled in the form while waiting for a flight at Gatwick, so chucked the date into my diary and forgot about it until the reminder.
Still, no real worries. They haven't made their unreliable online booking my problem and took the car in on the day I booked it for. If it was for anything more involved than service I'd phone them to confirm and discuss things.

Did nothing with my Aston today, but my boys enjoyed a trip to my favourite AM dealer (HWM).
Little Ripley fancied the Zagatto Shooting Brake, and offered a month's worth of gravy bones as payment. I told him not to hold his breath.
Nice picture. If I had dogs I’d be too petrified of them jumping up and scratching the car(s) to let them anywhere near any aston lol.Little Ripley fancied the Zagatto Shooting Brake, and offered a month's worth of gravy bones as payment. I told him not to hold his breath.
