Did nothing with my Aston today, but my boys enjoyed a trip to my favourite AM dealer (HWM).

Little Ripley fancied the Zagatto Shooting Brake, and offered a month's worth of gravy bones as payment. I told him not to hold his breath.

Nice picture. If I had dogs I’d be too petrified of them jumping up and scratching the car(s) to let them anywhere near any aston lol.
I thought exactly the same. biggrin

We drove back from the UK to France yesterday in the Vanquish after a couple of weeks hols in the Cotswolds and Cheshire. It was great seeing so many cars at the tunnel and on the motorway heading down to Le Mans for the classic 24hrs.

Yesterday took off the rear bumper so I could measure it up and order a new stainless replacement.

DB6?
Sorry I'm late. No, DBS. It (the old bumper) will be for sale in November.

(Edited to say someone beat me to it!)

I fitted a new alcantara steering wheel, then put it to good use with a tour round the Cotswolds with breakfast at Cotswold Barn. Onward bound to Caffeine & Machine to watch the F1 qualifying session. Weather wasn’t on our side unfortunately!

I got my Vanquish S out for a quick vacuum and thought iwould top her up in readiness for later in the week.
I thought £40 should do.... ha ....I'm such an optimist ( I just got bored filling it with the slowest pump known to man)

Anyway got back in and my range had increased by 48 miles, £40 for 48 Miles made me chuckle and then depressed me how difficult that can make life for some folk - just fuelling up for work at current prices.

The other day I put 80 miles "into" my EV in 8 minutes for £8 .

Yeah i put 120 miles in my missus EV on an overnight tariff for about £2.80 but it don't sound like a V12 when I start it up !
I shall just have to suck it up at £2.12 per litre for my guilty pleasure at least for now.

Very true ! ( at the moment EV mpg equivalence are crazy - 240 miles for £4.40 and mine is 623ps ... )
I did exercise a v12 tonight however, with the exhaust valves open .

£1.85 at Esso on the A12 south of Ipswich yesterday. I was planning to go to Tesco but saw that on the way and did a last moment 'box box box'.

And to think that in the middle of Covid it was as low as £1.00/litre. Bloody Russians.

Last week took the DBX to Foxhill Manor near Broadway in the Cotswolds. Fantastic dog friendly hotel if you haven’t been. Was supposed to be a one night mini break with my wife and the dog but for complex reasons my wife had to drive my daughter to to Southern France at the last minute. Since I had paid and it was an excuse for a drive I decided to have a romantic night out l, just me and the dog anyway ! The dog has not been impressed with the fancy diamond quilted, leather edged AM dog cover on the back seat for some reason so I found a manky old hair covered dog blanket and put it on top - much happier dog. Whilst the DBX isn’t quite the DB11 to drive it is definitely getting used more. It’s been further in the first 4 months of ownership than the DB11 did in the last 3 years. Previous weekend I too my son and 2 friends to the Warwick University open day because of the train strike.

Met Aston owners at both places, Foxhill manor a couple that had bought a new Vantage because he was fed up with the abuse and minor vandalism that his Lambos were getting (seems to have worked so far) and at Warwick a guy who had just sold his DBS for a GT4 and was upset his wife was getting a Bentayga rather than a DBX (she was coming out of a RR SVR but thought the DBX too quick and sporty).

Coincidentally I was in Broadway a few weeks ago for Prescott Hill Climb, not in the Aston but one of its predecessors. smile

Our Frenchie loves being in the Aston, if anything frankly it is holding up to his character far better than our previous BM!

Did circa 400 miles in the Vantage in the past few days kent to Cheshire. Then took it to N.Wales to visit my grandfather's old workplace and where we scattered his ashes. A moment to reflect, and I am sure he would have loved the AM.

Few bits ordered from Sevenoaks so might pop in on the way home to get them or get them on Thursday.

So far 1800 miles done in just under 2 months, in many weather conditions. Only concerns so far were the oil level sensor (replaced), and topping the coolant up, as I had seen it drop slightly and even afterwards have seen a little movement on pushing soem excess out (which apparently they consider normal to see a little consumption with a top up every 6 to 12 months depending on use).

Many lovely comments and making many adults and equally children's day. Well and truly makes up for the green eyed crowd.

Also apparently according to Mrs Ninja59 I have a prom duty to do. Except the person involved may sack of his prom OH to get a ride in an AM.

Let's not talk about how many fuel stops and me just not looking at the pump.

Where was the £2.12?

I paid £2.05 for some V power today.

It was BP super unleaded up here in the North east.
I usually go for shell v power but was passing a BP station so popped in.
I noticed the supermarkets are now a smidge under £2.00 for super unleaded too so I've just resigned myself to paying over 2 quid now

Nice - has your rear light got the black edge to them or is that an optical illusion? I ask as i have mine which have no black edge, but they are discoloured in the reflective lense inside, and the replacements i can find have a black edge to the light as fitted to later Cynets - and as you dont see many in the wild it caught my eye :-)
