So what have you done with your Aston today? (Vol. 2)
Discussion
It's just tiresome.
The other day I picked up my V8V from the dealership where it had been for a year 15 service and MOT. For some reason this took two weeks.
Still, it was good to learn that the PS4S tyres which are just over one hundred miles old are wearing well with 6-7mm unevenly worn tread remaining.
But at least with me speaking with the dealership on the phone the day before, it would be all ready for me to collect and I wouldn't be kept hanging around for my (not exactly inexpensive) bill to be collated.
It would also be washed and vacuumed as pre-arranged, if only to get rid of the leaves and tree sap with which it was now freshly decorated.
No way would the mirrors have lost their auto-folding setting.
And the EBA failure warning wouldn't illuminate on the way home.
Glad I got it serviced, though. Well worth doing after the huge mileage since the last one. I say huge, it was around 900.

Not surprising to me if so. I think they’re mostly shysters

On Wednesday I drove to Stuttgart, (lots of trucks on the road) and went to visit the Porsche museum. Pretty cool, lots of nice road and track hardware to peruse. Yesterday I went to the Mercedes museum, which is a much bigger and more historic experience, and the building atrium has a very 1930`s vision of the future look about it. Both museums well worth a look for a paltry 10€ entry fee. Drove home in the afternoon, roads again fairly busy but did squeeze 230km/h out of fifth gear. MPG diabolical.
Did the same about five years ago except by a mysterious coincidence there was the Octoberfest beer festival on at the same time…..Longy00000 said:
All polished up and 'reflecting well' so to speak
However these bolts in the handbrake caliper need replacing as they are letting the side down.
I might gave to pop down to the dealers and see what part no I need

Surprised they have rusted so quickly .
Very common, I applied Hammerite to mine .RichB said:
t's poor isn't it. I had something similar on my Porsche. The dealer managed to sheer off the bleed nipple, twice. They'd corroded into the caliper! They should use a better quality material for them.
In honesty that might be more of the decision of the supplier to AM. Equally depending on how aggressive the procurement team has been from AM might decide certain aspects as wellcayman-black said:

Very common, I applied Hammerite to mine .Had mine rust over twice - the second time I also treated them with Hammerite Kurust which has had a much more permanent effect, but at some point I intend to get the rust proof bolts fitted before these ones become difficult to remove.
Washed mine after around 700 or 800 miles of grime and bugs.
Decided to coat all the lower gloss black parts to make cleaning easier. As gloss was not the total name of the game and nor water behaviour, crystal serum light was selected as a stand alone product and maximum chemical resistance.
Rest of the body is in Meguiars ceramic wax liquid. I have some gyeon coatings for it or i could get my Zymol Vintage put I suppose, but at the moment i still have a few swirls to sort (I have done a light machine polish to boost gloss and remove the haze that was robbing it of some gloss, but there is a few points that need a step up from a finishing pad to a polishing pad when I have time and weather is more forgiving in temperature terms).
The wheels are currently being tested with soft 99 rain coat. Trim and glass was finished some weeks back with Gyeon products.
I should say as well refreshed the DI vessel to get it washed in this weather!

Fitted the CCCCC exhaust switch thing. Now I have loud mode and louder mode. Pretty good and very easy to install. Also great service even down to a nice signed letter. You don’t get that anymore.
Then filled up at £1.24 (AUD$2.16) a litre. Petrol seems to be getting cheaper now. Yay. Even better there was no rain and 21°C. It’s been 10° and rain in Sydney recently. Can’t remember such a miserable winter.
