So what have you done with your Aston today? (Vol. 2)

LBS - Yes, I can see the spokes.
Felonious - All black under the wheel arches. Had to click two times, then the spokes become visible in a full size photograph.
You clearly like the all white and black look, so silver wheels would be wrong.
Both of your cars looking wonderful.

They were originally black and hence mostly not very visible, hence I went for gunmetal (the same as the Spitfire Edition Vantage). Aston sells centre caps in the same (more or less) colour so it was an easy choice. The red calipers and red stripe on the side strakes break up the otherwise two-tone look. But LordBret's red wins for colour. Love it.

Before with textured black finish on the forged lightweight wheels
Now with silver wheels
Gave our Vantage a wash, polish and wax and had the wheels refinished in bright gloss silver, getting rid of the textured black finish. Totally changes the look of the car
there were also blue cars, same-ish shade blue with white wheels, which looked also good, although maybe just to much on a Aston, its more 'rally-ish' Now with silver wheels

Washed it before tomorrow driving up to AM Works
New sun visor, exhaust trim and a quote to remove the small scratch I have on the rear 3/4 which was there before my ownership, but is annoying me.
Silver polished wheel caps back on the db10 style wheels. Last year during the summer before I switched them back to the black ones:

Your V12VSR is looking lovely LBS! How are you doing? Fully recovered now?
Are you in the Coulourful V12 Vantage WhatsApp group too?
Kind regards,
Olivier
Much better thanks, still on the chemo but by capsules rather than intravenous.
Yes, I enjoy the banter on the Colourful Group.
Kind regards, LBS (Tim)

A little bit of maintenance for me today
Got the car out, gave it a good run and then with all my engineering skills fitted a new striker plate for rhe drivers door.
The plating was broken and a hint of rust was forming so a nice new shiny one was fitted.
Went from this

Was this easy/difficult, I see they are held with torx bolts, but is it a case of just removing them and refitting new latch. Have a similar issue with mine.Got the car out, gave it a good run and then with all my engineering skills fitted a new striker plate for rhe drivers door.

I would like to say it was incredibly complex and I was highly skilled in my work but unfortunately it was a 2 min exercise and one you can't really get wrong.
2 torx bolts
The striker sits on a movable plate underneath
Just place the new one onto it tighten gently but allowing for it to move if pushed
Shut door make sure it's sound and self adjusted
Open door and tighten up.
Very very easy you can't mess it up.
Part was £32 ish fro astonmartinbits .com plus postage about a fiver so £37(ish) all in.

Well today I thought I would clean the inside of the rear windscreen....jeez....what a job.
Now we all know the rear seats are for your coat or your dog but i thought i would give it a go. I'm only 5 ft 8 afterall. So in stocking feet and armed with cloths and sprays I gingerly climbed in the back.
Ffs , I got in but then couldn't really move to clean the bloody screen. I don't know how many times I kneed myself in the face trying relocate feet into different positions.
I think it's clean but whether it's streak free I have no idea. Perhaps a job for my granddaughter next time.
I know my back is going to pay for my efforts tomorrow.
