Took mine to the boat today. 125 miles round trip, nothing fell off, nothing broke!

I hadn't driven it for a while so after the first half-mile I stopped to check that all the tyres hadn't gone flat. Nope, that's 'sports pack suspension' and Bridgestone Coinfinders at work...

I had a meet up with fellow sports car owners down at the drag raceway near York. Roads absolutely filthy on the way so yup most of the cars were less then sparkling. Just over 200 mile round trip and enjoyed every one of them.

In a ‘what have you done’ thread, indeed in any thread, may I respectfully say how incredibly depressing this sounds.

And equally respectfully may I ask why this is ?

Agreed, that was me last Wednesday seeing it off to go to Works bodyshop in an AMW lorry.

I have the reverse on Monday...which will be like a massive toy box opening up revealing some sparkling new paint.

That being said I have asked Ben at AMW bodyshop for some pictures prior to it coming back.

In an odd way the "best" bit about Works (and others offering a similar service) is the ability to see your car safely off and inner child seeing it come back! That being said few offer it mainly because it is hugely loss making in isolation as a line item (even at AMW's level with x9 trucks).

Indeed - I think this is the first time I’ve had them pick-up the GT8 but I couldn’t persuade my wife to give me a lift home this time and then with the weather yesterday and also the appalling state of the village roads it was a good call !
As he drove it down our drive it was also a good excuse to look at the back of it and appreciate the view that people normally get.

Changed the door struts on my V8V. Not too difficult; one hour start to finish for both. Special tools consisted of a long thin (200mm) screwdriver to flip off the spring clips, and a broom to hold the door open. I managed without wholly removing the arch liner.

Love the colour and the matte sections on it instead of CF.

I did see x2 GT8 last time I was personally up there, and a couple of One 77 hanging around one together, one in pieces.

AMW finished mine up Friday morning with a final QC, it is delivered back to me tomorrow. Minus some slightly slow initial comms Oliver and Ben in the bodyshop have been excellent at answering my questions throughout.

Martyn on the service side helped get it all arranged though so credit where it us due they have done well, despite some of the initial comms (mainly on redelivery).

Yes the workshop is always worth walking through and the whole tour is especially worth doing.
Works painted my aero parts that I wanted doing to my spec post build and using “ fine lacquer painting “ ie no joins that you can feel ( car was delivered to them by the factory ) and also painted the wing end plates and mirrors Matt black. They also did certain interior alterations in terms of additional Alcantara and stitching.
