So what have you done with your Aston today? (Vol. 2)
Discussion
Having sorted out the cabin filters my attention turned this week to the air filters. Not difficult (at first), but once the arch liners were removed the fun started. You have to remove seven screws from each air box. The trouble is you can really see what you are doing, so it was done mostly by touch.
I'd recommend taking the aluminium panel off the bottom to give better access.
Turns out I had one AM filter dated 2014 and one 2020. Very odd! I was using replacement Blueprint filters and struggled to get the first one on. The aperture on the filter isn't quite big enough. After 30 mins I got one on but try as I might, I couldn't fit the second one.
I ended up hoovering out the 2020 filter (which has only done 3,000 miles to be honest) and refitted it.
So, the job took about five hours in total. Would I recommend Blueprint air filters? Not really - I've read about fitment problems with them before. Next time I'll pay the AM tax! Be interesting to hear what others say.

I'd be interested to hear what others have experienced with the Blueprint air filters as well.I'd recommend taking the aluminium panel off the bottom to give better access.

I thought the AM filters were a bit of a struggle.

Took DB11 AMR over to my detailer near Chelmsford this morning. Everything you can do is being done using all the best Gtechniq products currently available.
The whole process will take around three weeks, then off on a six week tour of Europe.

Of course you do realise it will be filthy on your return and need another 3 weeks to make shiny again...?

I won’t touch the car for the duration of my trip save keeping the glass clean. Of course you do realise it will be filthy on your return and need another 3 weeks to make shiny again...?
A service wash on my return and she will look as good as new, if not I’ve wasted my money, but I’m confident it will be fine.
