I keep meaning to do this…. What did you use, a kit or your own method (e.g. toothpaste)?

I would use a kit. Not much money and will do a better job than toothpaste. Lights might get tooth decay, but you'll get a better finish!

Always face the car away from sunlight when parking up for the day and you will see a lot less of this problem.

Went to an AMOC event at Hatfield House. Sone lovely cars as always, nice to get out in the sunshine, and lovely tour by a staff member of the gardens and house.

Kev

I was also at Hatfield House after shredding the alternator drive belt on the M40 the day before. Great event and wonderful weather.

Washed it. First time in a month there's been a break in the weather.

A little spring clean and I quickly fitted the TPMS defeat cable. Bit of a bodge but it’ll stop the recurring warning until I get around to doing tyres and sensors in due course.

A quick trip down to Dartmouth this weekend, had a lovely journey down on Friday in the nice sunshine, went M4 and M5 as we were worried about queues on the A303. The last stretch of road into Dartmouth is narrow and twisty for an A road with places you don’t want to meet a truck coming the other way.

We had a lovely weekend enjoying the sunshine but clearly the local seagulls are not fans of Aston as one unloaded something unholy over the bonnet, windshield and 3/4 of the car. The smell was quite something. This necessitated a 15 mile round trip to the nearest jet wash to remove as the half a dish sponge I carry for removing bird mess was not going to cut it!

Now just cruising up the Severn Valley after a stop at the cricket yesterday.

Got chance to take some atmospheric rainy photos whilst Mrs P is at work this morning. Car is running really well and proving once again to be the perfect GT car. Won’t be long until it needs another service!

I grew up in the southwest and seagulls were an ever-present pest. My father refers to them as ste-hawks for good reason. It's good that you got it quickly cleaned off: nasty stuff that'll do nasty damage if left.

Mrs P was annoyed about my insistence that it needed dealing with asap and made a number of comments about a car needing to be able to be left for more than 12 hours. She leaves her Polo under a tree to rot though.

This is typical of the seagulls down here, they are poor shots. It's quite clear they were aiming for the VW you were parked next to.

Pulled it out of the garage on Sunday for the first time in probably over 6 months.

Service and MOT due in a few weeks and I bet it's only done a few hundred miles since the last ones......

You guys really should drive your cars more, we drive both of ours 365days a year come rain or shine, supermarket run or whatever is needed at the time.

It's there to be driven and enjoyed and contra to what you might think it isn't going to disintegrate if you use it more often. Sure rain, salt etc may add to the maintenance when its >20yrs old, but equally you could drop dead tomorrow and then you have never got the amount of pleasure out of it that you could have.

Every time we drive either of ours it puts a smile on our faces, so why choose to go celibate for 50% of every year and run around the rest of the time in something less fun... confused

Haha, I don't choose sadly, I have a house renovation going on with no end in sight, I'm building my "dream" garage myself, we have two kids under 5 and the wife is in the last year of her Doctor specialisation. Working from home these days too, so free time is none existent frown

Talking of dream garages, just (almost) finished ours at the end of last week. Bought and moved into a new house at the end of Jan which is also a long refurb project for us, planning permission through now so the house starts next month, but the garage didn't need any planning as just a repair. It needed a whole new roof inside and out however as the inside roof was full as asbestos and external roof was rotten and falling down.

Pulled down the old roof, re-laid it with twice as many and extra thick heavy duty joists to protect against falling trees above (we surrounded by ancient woodland on all sides), new plastered garage ceiling and fitted it with 6000k LED profile lighting to my design. Painted ceiling and walls, garage electric roller shutter doors to be painted black as soon as I get a break in the rain, but the insides are done.

fuelled up...DB11 V12 - actually not bad mileage. Petrol station stops seem to turn into conversations pretty regularly. Couldn't imagine having a red one. Mine is Ultramarine Black with Dark Knight interior. The DB plate was a random win. Might need to get a DBX now just to properly take advantage.

went out to dinner and found a nice end parking spot smile Might need to paint those silver front plate clips out black now seeing this.

I approve of your garage and the colour of your V12V.

I also have a green car - and not driven this for months either......banghead
