I almost bought that car. Well done, lovely colour.

The red one too is a beauty. Enjoy.
Thanks Jonny, only reason I dealt, the car was as I would have speced it. Love Ultramarine, interior had full leather, also being a 2020 model year it had about £10,000 extras as standard.
Only covered a couple of hundred miles, will put more on the next few weeks. Couldn’t be happier, my previous car was/is a 991.2 GTS. I think the Aston has a greater range of capabilities, better GT car but more fun on the back roads.

It's amazing how the perception of a car changes when suddenly the price is right! Tough on people who forked out at higher levels before these deals were done tho.
I am no expert but I think anyone who has bought them at the higher price is ok as long as they sell them before 24 months from now (on the assumption that the deal isn't the new norm and normal pricing is resumed - otherwise it isn't really a deal is it !) - as a large number of end of pcp cars hitting the market might impact the residuals?

Congratulations to everyone who has secured a new one on the deal. They all look great - but that Q Elwood blue one actually looks particularly nice.

Agree

No similar deals in Australia as far as I know - pity !

they are still well north of A$300k

If they could be had for $2k a month they would be moving like hot cakes

The whole market has been instantly repriced lower. Try selling one to a dealer at any point before the PCPs run-off and hit the market - you'll be getting a back/low bid for sure.

Yes but shifting models at a huge discount doesn’t help the genuine buyer , surely Ferrari hold their value because they are price correctly , the new vantage isn’t so anyone who has used their hard earned and takes a massive hit will not buy again
Ferrari grows because they are priced right and hold value o the leap to the new model isn’t 50-100k ? Just my two peneth on pricing and renting deals , if I had bought a new vantage and seen these deals and when they all come back In Two year And look at my cars value then I wouldn’t be happy

I keep meaning to ask, does the Vantage have launch control? I didn't think it did but a mate swears blind it does.

No, no launch control for the Vantage. It’s got an 8 speed ZF auto gearbox.
Some of the car with launch control have twin clutch gearboxes...

Picked mine up yesterday after calling in at the local dealer the day before. Am really not an Aston fan after having a previous gen Vantage about 13 years ago but the deal was a no brainer. Very pleased with it so far.

Just because it has an auto trans does not mean it doesn’t have launch control. My ZF6 Vanquish has LC.

I don't think you can get a new Ford that quick.

V12v in for service so borrowed a new v8 vantage for a couple of days.
Thoughts.

Pros. Much smoother ride.
Gets power down much better
Looks lovely from rear
Very fast
Better nav etc.

Cons. No where near as special as the v12
Front end looks not to my taste
Stereo not as good as b and o obviously
Very muted engine note
V12 brakes much better.

Will I be changing No NOT for me but I don't drive the v12 every day.
As a daily driver tho it is a fantastic machine

Good to see Harry's preference would be the Vantage over a C2S 992.

And it was an interesting observation about the interior noise on a 911

I was curious so I got a dB meter going during my commute today and it was mid 60’s dB as opposed to Harry stating a 911 is low 80’s which is a LOT louder....

Surprising

I’ve just come over from a 991.2 C4 GTS so I watched Harry’s video with some trepidation as I generally find his comments are spot on for my tastes in cars. I needn't have worried. His feelings match my own. The Vantage rides way better that my GTS did and the steering is delicious. Plus the V8 just fills the car with a charm, warmth and character that the porker just cant match. I also felt that the road noise was less intrusive, so its nice to see the figures to back that up.

The clincher for me was getting back in my 911 after the Aston and it feeling so much less special. The 911 just felt ordinary afterwards. Massively capable, but not inspiring. I watched Harry’s video looking at the 992’s ugly blocky wing mirrors and thought - ‘meh’. In comparison they are a work of art in the AM.

The Auto took me a little while to gel with. As soon as I stopped trying to drive it like PDK it felt so much better. It requires a change of style but once you cotton on its very good. I can see why 911 drivers jump in for a quick test drive and are so anti the box, but it really isn't a weak link at all, its just requires different inputs to PDK.

Oh, plus I managed to get in on the end of year deals! The Vantage is costing me less per month than the GTS was depreciating. Bonus!

I liked that point! I have a lot of time for Harry, he always gives an honest appraisal and is very knowledgeable.

Plus, he picked the same as me !!
