No, no launch control for the Vantage. It’s got an 8 speed ZF auto gearbox.
Some of the car with launch control have twin clutch gearboxes...
The new Vantage does indeed have launch control smile

Engine up to temp, ESC off, Sport dampers, Track drive mode, steering wheel straight ahead position, foot on brake, press accelerator, release brake.

A bit of an update for first 700 miles.

Engine starting to loosen up and seems a bit more noisy in a good way.

I tend to drive it on track mode but dampers on sport.

Infotainment seems far behind my expectations but I'm not a tech type of guy so no issues to me really.

Engine is great, thirsty but I'm driving in manual mode with decent revs. The chassis is very good but not that much feel from steering wheel or seat to be honest. Carbon ceramics are far too keen, too much brake pedal servo.
Found a strange situation with cruise control. It doesn't release off when you initially press the brake pedal. This leads to the engine accelerating to maintain the cruise set speed. So when the sensor is activated to turn cruise off your already are in very keen braking mode ! Has anyone else found this issue, it feels like a fault.

But the car does feel very special place to be, it is incredibly refined and roomy. A great GT car.

Yes, every time. Exactly as you describe: inital press of the brake doesn’t disengage but instead cruise fights against it, press harder and it comes off resulting in abrupt breaking. Uncomfortable and a bit dangerous.

Mine is auto. You initially feel like your pressing the throttle rather than the brake. I’ll enquire with dealer to see if a fix is there

I think I've experienced this as well. I tend to knock it off with the stalk instead.

I'm finding I am using the speed limit option more than cruise in restricted zones. I've never had it on a car before (wasn't on my 911's), but actually I quite like it as it allows you to slow, but stops you going faster than you wanted to.

Re: the MMI - it's improved a lot by a visit to Aston Installations to get Car play fitted! It's great having better Satnav, access to Spotify with the full graphics etc and being able to have Whatsapp and Text messages read out and dictated. It is fractionally clunky in that if you want to revert to the cars screen for things like the temp controls etc you have to press a button, but I am finding I just leave it on car play.

Just passed 700 miles in mine. I dont have the ceramic brakes, but even so it felt a bit grabby initially. That seems to be improving making controlled modulation easier. I think the steering is lovely - it has a fab 'oily' feeling and is very direct. It just sort of oozes its way round the bends. I put that down to the Lotus connection. It made the steering on my GTS feel quite grainy and dim witted especially about town.

I've really been impressed with the build quality. It feels so well screwed together. Just a lovely place to spend time. The damping is perfect. The initial movement has some give and compliance, then it tightens up when it needs to. Then of course when you change to a Sports+ or Track mode and hit the loud pedal all hell breaks loose. In a good way! After a 4WD 911 that just ripped the tarmac off come rain or shine I love that it lets you know how much grip there is by wagging its tail just enough to tell you to be careful, but not so much as to scare you!

Really loving mine.

The brakes definitely get better as the miles go on...much less grabby. And the tiny wiggle to let you know the grip isn't perfect is really well controlled.

I too am enjoying the new Vantage thumbup

Yep, found the same, but I've been surprised at hwo easy it is to get high teens on my commute. When I popped over to Aston Installations to get Car Play fitted it did 28 mpg, which amazed me. It was a foggy old morning so I was going gently, but its good to know it sups gently if you want it to.

Tested this out this afternoon and yep, it feels like there is a point where it is trying to push you along and you are already braking trying to say stop. My solution is to use the stalk to cancel it. I hadn't really considered it a fault, more just how it works. But I've had to learn the cruise operation anyway as it all felt inside out and back to front Vs BMW or Porsche systems which seem to work along the same lines. Now I've got used to it I really like the way the controls work and feel for both the cruise and speed limit functions. They feel like second nature already.

Mine is auto (I have the cruise control issue as previously described)

Another “bug” that I’ve found is with the audio parking sensors. There is a half to one second delay for them to sound which is crazy. E.g. a bike rides by when at a standstill and it only beeps after the bike has completely passed the car and then sounds for about as long as it took them to pass... my previous M cars were all instant.

I will report both issuers to dealer after sales team and ask them to enquire if there is a software update to fix them a or at least to register them with Aston.

I also have CCBS and the grabbyness only lasted about 150 miles. Now they are fine.

I love the car. Can’t believe the attention to detail in the interior design and how well screwed together it is.

Re parking sensors, mine seems far too keen to activate them, sometimes going off when queuing in traffic, sitting there with beeps going mental at me. It makes me want to turn them off, but if you do that you’ll possibly forget they’re off when you are actually parking, and then crunch...
Not sure how the Aston system is set up, but can’t say I’ve ever noticed it in any other car.

400 miles since collection in December. If weather had been drier would be a lot more. What a sense of occasion this car is. Pootles about when needed, but really shifts when the opportunity arises. Brief tour round NW Exmoor yesterday in the sunshine. LOL when people drop their windows when waiting for traffic lights to change!

Parking sensors are better on my Q7 but still suffer the same issues more or less as the Vantage. I just turn them off but they turn back on when needed automatically don't they.... I use the 3D camera all the time. Now THEY is useful bro!

My neck of the woods... Lynton? Simonsbath? Blackmoor gate?

Fill up in barnie, a39 to Blackmore gate, cut down to hunters inn for coffee, quick walk to top of a moor to look at Bristol Channel and the view. Back home via Blackmore gate.

I've just passed 800 miles on my new 2020 AMR (& speed manual). The car drives great. My criticisms have nothing to do with the drive but are more to do with the premium stereo (weak) and the lack of secure storage space (glovebox). Admittedly there are minor quibbles but as this is my first Aston I cannot help but compare to my previous car (Porsche 911). The car is as much a blast to drive as the 911 and is much better for long distance highway travel. The manual transmission is chunky and a bit temperamental but I like having to stay in tune with that as it connects me to the drive.

I've just gotten a yellow check engine light and will be taking the car in to service on Monday. Let's see what this is all about. Hopefully it's a passing item (fuel filler door issue?) or worse case is a harbinger. I have a very low tolerance for reliability issues with my cars.

Nice! Some nice sections on the A39 from Barnstaple to Blackmoor Gate. Will be down in mine to see the family soon. Always enjoy the old moor road from Taunton to Wheddon Cross, then Simonsbath and Blackmoor Gate.
