So you got 4 metal valves and 4 rubber, either of which allow you to mount the TPMS sensors onto each wheel (plus the 508 of course…)

Or was it 8 sensors in total, which seems a bit overkill if you only need 4.

Just clarifying in my mind !

Yes that's the kit. But when I phoned Autel they said buy from one of their distributors as there are a lot of fakes out there, which they obviously don't support. Autel put me in touch with Euro Car Parts. Which was more expensive but at least I have peace of mind. Why you get 8 sensors I don't know but that's promotion. I think they believe businesses buy this kit not individuals.

Glad this thread is keep on helping! smile

On the same note, my sensors installed in the late spring of 2019 are still doing great. The only thing I noticed is that in winter, probably due to cold, I often get a low pressure warning on start up, since the front wheels are 205 when cold. Then after 10 minutes or so when tires are warming up, pressure is rising with no problems to 235. Rear wheels start at 230 and rise to 260/270.

Does not happen in spring/summer.

Just had another look. There’s two different frequencies- 433mhz on the rubber stemmed sensors and 315mhz on the metal ones. Thanks to BabyDtiver’s account, the Autel says the V8V uses 433mhz.

Does it matter ? If you want metal stems (who doesn’t) would you need to swap over the stems from the 315 ?

Thank you for highlighting the difference between the rubber valves and the metal ones. Luckily, as I didn't read the instructions, I used the metal ones only because the Smartire ones were metal which look better too.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to wait until Monday to see if they work as I want to swop the recently bought tyres off my old front wheels to my new wheels and that was not possible on Friday as my wife needed her car which has the towbar.

I've just had a look at the boxes that the sensors came in and they quote that the range is 315MHz/433MHz. Regardless of whether they're rubber or metal. However 433MHz is the only frequency stamped on the rubber and metal sensors. Take a look at the photographs. Metal vales are not interchangeable with the rubber sensors or vice versa. I reckon the sensors will do both frequencies.

As far as I know, I believe one frequency was used in the US while the other in Europe and ROW. I believe Autel are universal and compatible with both.

Interesting - the link I posted in a previous post showed different frequencies on each sensor depending on the valve stem type.

Look forward to seeing how it pans out !

Well I'm half way there. Spent most of the morning at National Tyres, swapping two new tyres across from my old wheels to my new wheels plus balancing and fitting the new Autel sensors. Amazingly for all this work they only charged me £26.00 for 4 wheel balances at £6.50.

On leaving National Tyres the warning light was still glowing but I remembered from this post that a few miles have to be driven before they disappear. Unfortunately the light remained on even after a few stop and starts. When I got home two lights were on and two were off. Strangely the warning lights were for the two hexadecimal numbers that have a leading zero. On investigation I found I had inadvertently input the wrong decimal number on one but the other was correct. Strangely again the Smartire number on this one is not in the same sequence as the others hence the leading zero that the Autel device added. It was too cold in the garage to mess about reprogramming the incorrect one. So I'll wait and see if the weather's kinder tomorrow. Still I'm making some progress but I feel that it's the sensor with the leading zero that may be a problem.

Whoopee I've cracked it the TPMS is working perfectly on my 2008 Vantage.

I deflated the tyre with the valve with the incorrect input to below 10psi as instructed by the TS508 device and reprogrammed the sensor with the wheel in place. I thought I'd ignore the problem with the other valve with the leading zero and go for a spin to establish whether I'd now got 3 working sensors. To my complete surprise after a couple of miles or so I looked under the glove box and all I could see was a solitary green light. I'd done it.

The valve with the leading zero was a read herring. I don't know why the unit would not recognise it before, but hey ho it's all up and running now. I've not deflated a tyre to see if it registers a fault, I'll leave that for another day as to my mind if the green lights on its all working properly.

I'm pleased as although it's cost me the price of a TS508 device and four wheel balances totalling £505.99 it's half the price an Aston Martin Dealer would have charged and I've got a TS508.

With that in mind if anyone would like me to program any Autotel TPS Sensors please PM me. I'm Happy to help for the price of a drink.

Great to read this, another TPMS system is back to work for a good number of years without reverting back to the old overpriced sensors sold by dealers!

Hi All! I hope everyone is doing well and as many here I have been struggling with my DB9’s SmartTire system.

Sadly for me, paying the dealer is not an option since they don’t support SmartTire systems in my area anymore (not in the UK…).

But reading this I did buy an Autel 408 and the MX sensors. I read successfully the sensor that still transmits but get a strange error (-4) when I try to program the sensor with any method.

Maybe anyone has an idea what’s wrong? I spent all weekend searching the internet but could not find what the error means. Emailed Autel and still no response… Thanks for any help!

I'm about to replace the tires on my '09 V8V. I've had it from new, and it still has the original TPMS. They're still working, but I'm thinking it might be wise to replace them when I change the tires. I know many people have had to replace them when they're a lot younger than mine, but have any/many people had them last longer?
