Excellent work - another one saved.

Don't forget the XCP and Dynax where applicable. Shame to let all that effort go to waste !

From what I’ve been told you don’t need to treat Expoy with anything - think I’d still try something clear (Dynax UC is not completely clear)

The Dynax is to spray inside tubes of the subframe where untreated rust will be present, and the XCP is to give the suspension arms some protection after vapour blasting.

Dungman, I hope you're going to leave those components in your living room, they look too good to put under your car where nobody will see them

Thanks. That’s the plan for today. May not be required but I’m going to give the outside of the frame a few coats of UC. Can’t do any harm.

Couldn’t agree more so I suggested doing just that.

Everything now back in the garage.

Few coats of rust blocker done following the recommendation from JonnyCJ. Could do with more of a mist from the spray head but got better with practice. Bit of a shine to the finish although not completely dry in the photos. Should do the job nicely.

I made the mistake of layering it too thick on the rears. It then took ages to dry. What worked much better was either a light misting, or wipe over with kitchen roll if it goes on a bit thick, to remove the excess.

Fronts went much better and I got a nice misting, but even then gave it a wipe over each time before drying and then going additional coats.

The XCP likes to be warm and helps to have a warm ambient temp as well.

Final note, try and keep it away from the paint and glass when spraying otherwise you’ll leave a fine mist on there which will need washing off.

Just doing my subframe and noticed that the one of the bungs in the internal chassis rails are missing. I am sure I read somewhere that it is a Ford part but can’t find the the post, any one know where I can get some. Thanks

I’m at the stage of torquing all the suspension bolts. I know this is meant to be done with the weight of the car on the wheels but I cannot do that without a ramp.

Does anyone have a measurement from half shaft nut to wheel arch? At least that would be near enough until the alignment is done professionally.

Are you referring to the rubber components for the jacking points?
I bought some of those recently.
Ironmongery prices, not motor industry or Aston Martin rates.

You need the V8V workshop manual, i've got the DB9 manual, does anyone have one they can send to Dungman??

Exciting times - I used a Jack to Jack up the wheels. It’s tricky, but do-able. I did have a post on it as I asked the same question, but can’t seem to find it.

Hi Dewi not the jacking points the hole to the left of the photo.
