As per title really. It looks like Palmer is going to be relieved of duty.

Could an ex-AMG boss taking over, mean that the forthcoming Aston Martin V6 engine is ditched, and Mercedes engines are used throughout the range in the future?
I'm sure everyone will be thrilled if/when AM becomes AMG Premium. If they ditch the V6, which seems entirely possible, then it'll surely be AMG engines for everyone which no doubt everyone here will love. I think everyone has been so concerned with if AM will survive, that they've not really considered what it might turn into if it does when in the shadow of a brand like AMG.
As for Andy Palmer, he was very helpful to me when I had an issue with my car and the dealer didn't want to know, and seems an enthusiast from what I can see. AM has a great range of products now that will hopefully give them a proper chance at survival. I don't have the correct education or insight to know if IPO was solely his fault or a whole multitude of people, but I do think its a shame that the vision and interest AM has at the moment might be killed off.

If AMG engines is the only for them to survive its not necessarily a bad option. How much budget do you need to develop your own engine these days and how many cars do you need to sell to cover the cost? Low volume car makers can rarely afford their own engine so they need one from somewhere.....
Well it's going to be interesting to see what happens to the share price on Tuesday morning for sure. As an Aston Martin owner, quite honestly I want to see the brand succeed. I deliberately bought a 4.7v8 because I wanted an NA engine, not because I didn't want an AMG block. If you have to buy a V8 in though, why not buy in [one of] the best there is? It's hard to argue that Mercedes-AMG don't make a top class V8 engine after all. If I had the money I'd go order one of everything in the range - I didn't get the current Vantage or the DB11 for a long time but now they appeal in the same way as my older. Vantage does. The continuous negativity online to the brand does no good to it either.
Great news here and now in 2020 with the current situation. He tried hard and had lots of good ideas but did not think about the costs of all these different cars and platforms for such a small company.
He still had the mentality of running a massive company like Nissan
Therefore for nearly bankrupting the company yet again he gets shown the door thankfully.
