Hi All,

Due the Covid restrictions we are trying to get exact numbers so we can book the lunch at the fat lamb, so I think now we'll stop any newcomers and keep it the numbers we have, as there are now more than enough people arriving for lunch and it's not fair on the pub to keep on changing the numbers on the booking.

I've started another topic regarding confirming the numbers for lunch.

Thanks.

I will come and meet wherever you are meeting Richmond way, drive back to Cumbria Fat Lamb, but will skip meal.

So that gives you a couplr extra places for the pub.

Thanks

A reminder to the Northern lot to let me know where they are starting from, so we can arrange a suitable meet up point.
Thanks

Not checked in for a while and just seen this post. See you said no more additions but if it's not too late would be great if I could join you on 9th August.
I have Phil's "MakoV12" V12VM. Would be joining from with Sunderland or Wolsingham depending on where I spend weekend. Let me know. No worries if it's not possible. Can always have a game of golf instead!

Right Northerners...

How about this route? Should give us a good run on some fantastic roads (points for the most cyclists).
Meet at Washington Services, Northbound at 9:30
Then Heddon on the Wall garage (A), to leave at 10
Should get us to the pub for just after 12 (Maps always overestimate the time).
Only a suggestion, so feel free to say if you want to try anything else.

Do you know how wide, sorry narrow, and unforgiving some of your route is, especially c to d to e. My BIL lives just south of Haltwhistle, last house below the treeline above the South Tyne valley. Is someone going to drive the route before leading a convoy?

Parts of d to e are also designated on road cycle routes

The Alston to Middleton road (D to E) is bloody brilliant. Your biggest issue will be motorcycles and gawping at the scenery instead of the road. It is an A road so wide enough for most things.....

According to my OS map, Alston to Middleton is the B6277. I drove it on a weekday last summer, OK in a LWB Sprinter, and it was tight when passing farm vehicles. I'll be very surprised if on a weekend morning this time of year you can press on

I’ll have a run through beforehand.
We can always change it slightly and go through Allendale. We’ve done that plenty of times.

I have done these roads plenty of times and they are fine, but I will do a double check if anyone is nervous.
As I say it’s only a suggestion.

Can’t do this Sunday, but next one should be ok.
You just want an excuse don’t you?

They’ll be fine though, we’ve done them plenty.
You can follow them on google street view.

Yes, just need an excuse.

The Lancaster / Cumbria guys had mentioned on the other thread about a rendezvous with us before travelling to the Fat Lamb.

What about meeting them at the derelict Hartside Cafe?
