I thought there were no more tickets available for this event so as I am over 330 miles away I am trying to plan the full weekend away so would probably travel down Saturday and maybe stay just off the A34 near Oxford/Didcot to split the journey a little or just go for it and get a hotel on the Northside of Southampton for the Saturday eve? What's the A34 like these days as I haven't been on it for years and it always used to be a nightmare around the Newbury area?

As of today, there are still tickets available on Beaulieu website.

Split the journey, 330 miles in an Aston Martin, it’s only just getting warmed up.

I think you said you're in Cumbria? Took us about 6 hrs from Keswick to Bournemouth a few weeks back. Newbury is usually fine as has a bypass now. Can be slow past Oxford though. And god knows how many miles of 50 limit on the m6 by Stoke. Also, take the m6 toll, much less stressful!

As said,
Oxford is slow going most days, once you clear th 50mph section it tends to be fine.

Blimey, you have not been on it for years. Newbury has a bypass now. There is a new Courtyard Hotel just been built off the A34 in Didcot.
