I read somewhere that the Chinese like the big grill look, hence all the manufacturers doing it. Not sure if its true, but it won't be just cooling that's driving it
This, but also a design fad that will deflate by itself with time, like pop-up headlights.

Speak for yourself. Pop up lights on the right car are brilliant.

I think it was pedestrian safety that killed pop up lights, rather than lack of demand?

Pop-up headlights were killed-off by legislation. The Lotus Espirit and Ferrari Testarossa both had pop-up headlights and were cool as a cucumber...

Eh, never been a big fan. On some classics they are fine, but imagining a modern version of the idea... not a big fan.

Pop-up headlights. Yes please.

That's why I always wanted a Ferrari when I was a kid. It all went wrong with the 360. No pop-ups, no targa, no buttresses.

Had to lower my sights and bought an MR2. Interesting how the MR2 evolved along the lines of the 348 / 355. Rear lights changed from square to round, sills got colour coded.

Need to grow a proper moustache now to complete the look. smile

Ok, so let's put back pop-up headlights to resolve latest AM design troubles then! biggrin

I hate big grilles on ze germans with passion, but the new Vantage is fine by me. I must be one of the rare breed who likes the previous and current generation of AM.

That's a Cizeta isn't it? Transverse V16 with a central power take-off. Giorgio Moroder funded it?

DB7 was originally intended to have pop-ups and a targa roof.

The new Maserati MC20 is a Supersport car - which the Vantage is also considered (as oppsosed to supercar/hypercar). AM may have more competition in this space! Will be interesting to see how their V6 performs and sounds. 600+HP. Looking rather good.

Well, I don’t know how this fits in with the narrative, however - I can tell you the DBSS have been selling in the last month or so. Cheapest was down to £150k last month, however 164k is now the cheapest available. So the low hung fruit have been flogged off, supply restricted and (I presume) trying to hold the second hand prices.

Quite, seeing as we are being told we are in the worst recession ever its just incredible how many cars are moving right now.

Rich generally get richer through recessions so it makes sense that high end cars are selling.

I know of 10 DBSSV that have sold since I bought mine 6 weeks ago, and that’s ones I had a lazy eye on!

The DBSS have nearly all gone that needed to go!

DBX orders ( places not assumed) very strong!

In a really bad recession as this is going to be , not every sector has been affected, and there is money about even though it isn’t always pleasant to discuss

Just had a dealer offer on email, for the db11 v8 coupe.

OTR £197k

Deposit contribution £55k

Holy moly, more than 25% off list.
What? The car lists at £145k or thereabouts. What on earth did you spec to get it to £197k?
I didn’t. That’s what the deal was/is.
I must be missing something. Stratstone will sell you a new DB11 V8 for £149,805.
