I noticed that about the Valkyrie releases, been watching some on YouTube. Pretty awesome machine. The carwow video is worthing looking up as they talk through some of the design issues of the car including the world's smallest high level rear brake light which they had to make slightly bigger than intended just to accpmodate the EU compliant stamp on the glass.

CarWow video was surprisingly good. Catchpole video was great too, but that’s always going to be the case. The two German ones were wonderfully Germanic. Harris was off his game, but has been for some time. Lieberman. Well I can only blame jet lag. That was a train wreck and I normally really like his stuff.

... The same guy owns the brand and the F1 team. That’s way more than most teams. Plus for Everyman that makes it one and the same. ...

The Lawrence Stroll private F1 team has rights to the AML brand name (subject at renewal at intervals, upon approval by Lawrence Stroll the AML board of directors.

In the long history of Aston Martin, only once has there been a long queue of excited buyers for a core model.
The 2 year wait by some customers, for the 2005 V8 Vantage.

It would be wonderful if the recent and future widespread F1 publicity, does encourage an increase in orders for new Aston Martin cars.
Do you think it could turn out to a really significant volume increase?
If they could just get the demand to double, that would be perfect.
Run supply at 90% of an annual demand of 12,000, then the CFO would think he is working at Ferrari.

You never really know. I hope they can capitalise on the positive sentiment. Time will tell.

It'll be interesting to see how the residuals on v/h and new era Astons play out. Some great deals out there atm on new era vantages and db11s. Would think residuals could be helped by more brand demand, especially if new models are significantly more pricey.

AMR need to get that Valkyrie racing in the new World Series Hypercars, it looks made for it and would be great to see these green machines up against Porsche and Ferrari et al on the world stage, with the GT cars also in support. They would garner a huge Brit following at Le Mans.

Enjoyed the videos of it in action, thought unusually podgy Harris was going to be sick in his onboards.

Cheers Jon, seems they didn`t have the best of luck but the Vulcan certainly chopped through the field in the first laps. Interesting to see the Vulcan side by side with the Vantage!

Here is a miscellaneous item for you.

Who is in the lead?
Oh dear, it is the front wheel.

Goodwood Members Meeting, yesterday.
All ended well. The Aston Martin came to a halt safely.

Actually, at that point I seem to remember it was Alex Buncombe in a Jaguar E-Type wink

Isnt' that the same car that BenAstonV12 modelled his V12VTT on from the V12VTT thread?

Yes, quite correct Richard.
You might have been enjoying the event at Goodwood.
I watched online. Think I spotted a blue DB2 competing.

When I tried to think up my mini 'headline', I was imagining a private race, between car and wheel.
So pleased that the only apparent damage was presumably to the brake and lower wishbone. Perhaps N/S sill.
If a wheel detaches, of course some luck is needed regarding where the car happens to be, when it happens.

It all ended as well as could be expected. The wheel came to a halt on the side of the track and the DB4GT managed to get off the circuit at the gate by the Shell building. It was a great weekend.

The dark coloured DB2/4 was green and is owned and driven by Guy Verhofstadt - former Prime Minister of Belgium! The silver one was driven by Chris Mayhew but was smoking badly. Neither threatened the front of the pack.

Indeed, it's owned and raced by Dwight Merriman who lives in the US.

Seeing the colour coded grille surrounds reminds me of seeing the two AMR1s racing at Le Mans in 1989. To distinguish between them at night, during the night practice one had a yellow headlight on the right and a white headlight on the left while the other had them the other way round. This was fine in principle but by the time it was too dark to see the cars' numbers I'd forgotten which was which. It wasn't just me. In the race, one car had white headlights and the other had yellow.

Qualifying raised hopes. 47.215 seconds, front row, 2nd on the grid.
Disappointment unfortunately in the race.

The Aston Martin Vulcan did not even complete lap 1.
Ran off the track at Clearways. Wonder if cold tyres might have been a factor?

Towable, but front left bodywork damaged.
