The honda hokey cokey, were in ,were out , only this time they had little choices as to who they could get back in with.
Realistically it was probably aston or no one in terms of preparing a serious challenge for 2026 and I think it's a great deal for aston f1.
Whilst AM F1 with the mercedes customer engine are currently beating the metcedes factory cars that won't last for long as Mercedes will 100% not want to see their customer engines in front of their factory team so a def incompatibility there.
AM Honda can go forward and won't be handicapped by competing against a 'works' team as they are the new 'works' team.
However yes there are def branding issues between the road cars and the F1 team, I have no idea how that circle can be squared off or what the existing contracts allow.
Can AM.continue with a base merc ice car engine but then apply honda electronics for the EV hybrid drive train?
Who knows but very interesting.
Personally if they go with honda for road car engine supplies I think they will badge it With Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) and I think HRC badging could work.

Any branding will become more opaque in a few years time, in the electric motor era.
Eg. The mild hybrid electric motor/generator now used in many Mercedes-Benz models, is manufactured by Mitsubishi.
Monaco GP.
Qualifying Part 2;
Remarkable how close the F1 lap times are this year.
What about this example;
Position 3. ........................................Alonso .... 1:12.107
Out of qualifying - position 14 .........Stroll ........ 1:12.623
11 places down for just half a second difference.
..................................................................................
Final Qualifying Result;
1. Verstappen ..... 1:11.365
2. Alonso ............ 1:11.449
3. Leclerc ............ 1:11.471
4. Ocon ............... 1:11.553
It appears that rain is forecast during the race tomorrow.
I had a brief look at another make forum.
Saw a couple of 'pops' at Porsche owners.
That followed a deeply technical engineering discussion.
Non Porsche owning Aston Martin enthusiasts, might be mildly amused.

You don’t get posts like this on the Porsche forum sadly.
More like, “should I fit carbon fibre cup holders !”
or what perm lotion do you use ? More like, “should I fit carbon fibre cup holders !”

As he clicks on the 'What have you done to your Aston today' thread and notices it's all about fitting carbon fibre panels to their engine bay That followed a deeply technical engineering discussion. Non Porsche owning Aston Martin enthusiasts, might be mildly amused.

(Not yet fashionable on DB2 models).
Oh, so that now only leaves us considering, whether men driving Aston Martins use perm lotion.
Like the team? Buy a piece of the factory

Aston Martin is listed on PH under Other Marques.
One of the other makes in that section is Dacia.
Years ago we can remember, James May teasing excitedly about the anticipated arrival of the Dacia Sandera.
I see that there is now great concern on PH, about a Dacia price increase.
.............................................
Extracts:-
'The top spec car has gone up by £300,
but you now get cruise control as standard and ESC standard across the range.
Nothing like a bit of spin (and a price rise) to gloss over an EU ruling, that says these have to be standard now '
'Didn't take long! The basic car is now £9,495.00, I think that's a £500 increase, more than 5%.
Has completely put me off buying one now.'
'I just don't get it.
I tested one and frankly it was rubbish.
Amazing, I'd rather have a week in the Maldives.'
..................................................
For a replacement set of Aston Martin headlights and tail lights, we could instead have a new Dacia, or a week in the Maldives.

"Contents of staff toilet" - I assume they mean fixtures and fittings but reckon they could have phrased that lot a little better...https://bidonline.ncmauctions.co.uk/auctions/8562/...

It`s been a bloody fascinating 24hr of Le Mans so far, 5hr 30m to go and the Orange ORT Vantage is in 2nd in class, which is where it started, good effort so far! Currently the Iron Dames all female crew holding first in their 911, which potentially makes a great story.

The Hypercar class has been a revelation with super competitive racing, Ferrari looking good after taking pole in their first top tier entry in 50 years, Toyota with one car left in a solid 2nd (no, just jumped to first) and the Cadillacs 3rd and 4th. Porsche not really in it.
LMP2 has been tight too, I`m happy to see the Duqueine car, (as I know one of the drivers) that started 20th in class after quali issues is holding a tight 3rd in class.
But, it is Le Mans, let`s see how it looks when the flag falls at 4pm...

I've always wondered why it is bunged in 'Others' rather than the same category as its rivals. I contacted PH about it; they said 'If you make a case for it we'll consider it'. Odd.Jon39 said:

If I was Mr Dacia I would be honest and say 'Sorry but the EU made us add more stuff which put the price up.'but you now get cruise control as standard and ESC standard across the range.
