Just wanted to give an update to this thread as I have recently had Bamford Rose's Stage 3 power pack installed on the vantage.
Hello m8, im here too to give some info for the records, my car had the clutch replaced at Bamford too, upgraded from the standard single mass to the dual mass flywheel, but there is something that many people ignore.

I dont know if this applies for the 4.7 because my car is a manual 4.3, so (at least) for the 4.3, Mike has 3 variants of the same DMF, every one of them with a slightly difference in weight, this is due the typical grinding noise at low revs that every Vantage does, specially with manual transmission, depending on the current wear and tolerances in the gearbox, final pinion and the driveshaft joints (i dont remember exactly), he tests your car and then decide which one of the 3 is gonna be put in there.

In my case he put the lightest one because the wear in my car was minimal, of course this lighter DMF offers more "grinding" noise at low revs than the others and even the original single mass flywheel but worth definitively the try, the responsiveness is just magic, it feels like a true sports car.

I think Mike donesnt tell nor ask this to most customers because most of them doesnt know about car mechanics and its unnecessary because he decides the most suitable anyway, in my case i already knew before the upgrade and told him that, in case of doubt between the lightest and the intermedium, to put the lighter, accepting the risk lol

I strongly recommend to change the clutch at Bamford, they DMF is probably the best option.

Didn't think a dual mass flywheel was employed on the V8?

Me neither. Does he mean twin plate clutch? and not dual mass flywheel?

As already correctly surmised, it is a twin plate clutch with a lighter flywheel (not dual mass).

My 4.7 was fitted with the twin plate clutch by BR about 4 years ago. I think considering one of three different weight flywheels before fitting, might be a more recent procedure.

My car had noticeably more gear chatter after the fitting. Even chatter with a hot engine at idle speed, which was not present with the heavy OEM flywheel. However, after about 1,000 miles there had been an improvement. I am quite happy and drive in a way to avoid circumstances where chatter would be expected. With hot engine at tickover, try turning on and off the air conditioning. That might be enough to start or stop the chatter.

Mike explained to me, that standard individual cars do vary in the amount of gear chatter that occurs. A car with more than average chatter should not be fitted with a lightweight flywheel, because the chatter would inevitably become even more noticeable with a light flywheel. I can understand why different weight flywheels are now considered, prior to fitting.

I don't think the V12V (which has a twin plate clutch) has any gear chatter, because the V12 engine runs so smoothly with minimal vibrations transmitted to the transmission, compared to a V8.
