I have just picked up my Aston V8 Roadster from main dealer with a roof movement failure.
I was told they would be able to trace the fault easily with the diagnostic kit to where the fault is.
They replaced the tonneau latch ecu and charged me £770 plus vat for the labour??

Is this right or have I been scorched??

The ECU is a plug in module availible on ebay for £40.

Should the diagnostics have been able to pin point the module failure and how long would it have taken to replace?

They did wash the car for me too.

Hmmmm??
Or should I contact Aston at Gaydon and find out what going on?
I have owned the car from new 20k miles....
Thanks

Sounds like a lot of labour even at say £120ph + vat ...seems like a long time to diagnose and fit a module which I would have thought a few hour job.

Maybe Ring another dealer, ask them how much to supply and fit a new tonneau latch module ? that would give you an idea.

No doubt if you question the dealer thats done the work they will have a good story as to why it took so long.....

I think main dealer labour rates are a bit more than £120 plus vat

Replacing the module is a very simple process, remove rear wheel, remove wheel arch liner, remove 4 bolts holding ECU panel, disconnect wiring, remove 2 nuts holding ECU to mounting panel and then reverse procedure to fit.

At least get them to break down the bill, parts, labour, diagnostics etc..

Sorry misread, but ask them to justify the hours spent.

Isn't that the roof control module, rather than the tonneau latch ECU?
