Curious about the AMR cars. Were any others not done in the default halo scheme (or official variant of the design)? V8 or V12.
Yes, and I would expect it was the most popular colour option for both AMR V12VS and V8V. I think its just that the members here are less likely to go for Halo, rather going for a custom option.nickv8 said:

Cheers, Adam. Is there an AMR register on here and/or AMOC?My Vantage isn't an AMR as such, although its full AMR powerkit spec now, and although I have an AMR Rapide I dont think there are enough of them to justify a group, lol...

Probably, I think there is a facebook or maybe its a whatsapp group for the AMR Vantage?

Will have a look around at what's out there. Not a FB fan, but I have to get over myself on that score My Vantage isn't an AMR as such, although its full AMR powerkit spec now, and although I have an AMR Rapide I dont think there are enough of them to justify a group, lol...
The AMR is only really a spec level. Let's face it, it's a V12S still in this case.
AMR Rapide... now they are VERY nice. Rare, but just love the two large lamps on the front which remind me of the Mk 1 Vanquish. Nice choice to have!
I thought it best to send you all a photo of this vehicle in lighting conditions that won't offend
Just returned home with it. It took at least 30 mins before my son and I stopped giggling. I was reduced to being 3 years old. The joy this car has brought is unmeasurable (unless you look at the torpedoed savings account!).
First, a massive "thank you" to all at HWM. I've always had great service at AM Bristol, but this car was simply never going to be available anywhere else. Each and every step of the process was efficient, swift, helpful, polite and a joy. I couldn't recommend HWM enough, including Guy, Steve, Paul, the receptionist (sorry - I didn't get your name), in no particular order.
Oh - and any AM dealership with 3 of the 14 amazing V600 Dreadnoughts in stock, needs an award!
I bought the car without having seen it in the metal. A first for me. But I have been looking for 6 years and worked through two lovely V8 Vantages in that time (black and Volcano Red). I think I started to really know what I was looking for.
Top of the list was an uplifting colour, both inside and out. I'd grown tired of monochrome exteriors and interiors. Astons are joyous shapes and carry off colour brilliantly! And when this one sparkled in the sun on the way home, I couldn't help but smile like a Cheshire Cat...
I know the spec is controversial, but it really has got to be seen to be understood. The interior is on a completely different level to anything I've previously seen, including Vanquishes (which are already damn special). No - I wouldn't have spec'd the wood finish waterfall dash, but in the "flesh", it's stunning, and an amazingly brave and successful choice! Changing any of it would be a crime.
There is minimum bare carbon fibre (I'm not a great fan of it in excess). I never liked the bonnet louvres in CF on a V12 and always thought if I got one, I'd ask to see if a GT12 bonnet would fit. But painting them body colour, for me, is the ideal solution. And I love what looks like the "LA teeth whitening" grille
In my head, the interior of this car reminds me of a more traditional Aston (say, a V550 Vantage from the 90's) in a very good way. It feels immensely tailored and detailed. It shouldn't work, but it does in spades!
With it's grand tourer appearance, it's easy to forget it's an AMR V12 Vantage (very nicely, with zero badging on the exterior). So, when it was started in the showroom, my son and I just laughed our heads off! It's not spec'd with the titanium exhaust, but I think it's a beautiful noise, in or out of Sport mode. Refined, silky, spine-tingling. But all this is known by many already. I don't think I'd even secondary de-cat it, amazingly!
It's new (to me). I'm smitten. It's a keeper (and that has been driven home by SWMBO in no uncertain terms ). It will be used and cared for like crazy.
Very happy to be back in an Aston. The Boxster didn't stand a chance...

Thanks all! And oilit for your help along the way
Hopefully it will also put a grin on other's faces next year. Earlier this summer, we went to the Beaulieu Supercar Weekend and chatted to a couple of owners on the Sporting Bears ( http://sportingbears.co.uk ) pitch, especially an AM owner. I came across them once before and think it's a great idea.
I need to check it's all OK insurance-wise for myself, but I am very tempted to join in.
It's one of the reasons I never truly bonded with my Boxster. Fantastic car in many technical ways, but the dealers were very cold and the owners club was terrible. Polar opposites of the AM experience.
Nobody needs a sports car, so you gotta enjoy the experience from start to end and share that.
