V8 Vantage Emergency Key

My 2006 V8V came with the two keys, but not the nice chrome emergency key. I was going to buy one, but then wondered if they are really necessary. I can understand that the fob won't work if the battery is flat, and that the emergency key allows you to mechanically unlock the driver's door - but surey I can do that anyway with the ignition key? So what am I missing?

I don't know, but your final sentence made me wonder, if the ignition key can unlock the car door, perhaps emergency keys were only supplied to the glass key cars.

I was thinking the same. I only remember having 2 keys for my 2006 Vantage. The "real" spare key in a plastic package came with later glass keyed car

Thanks guys - that makes perfect sense! So I probably aren't missing an emergency key after all because the early Vantages didn't have them.
