The new Vantage?

Some said the new Vantage would be introduced this weekend. I guess not.. Does this mean the only other new model for this year is the DB12 Volante??

Not sure if this has been posted before but I’ve lifted this from one of the AM Facebook groups. It seems somewhat unusual based on previous form for both Coupe and Roadster versions to be seen out testing together, as there is usually a gap between their official reveals, as was the case with DB12 and DB12 Volante recently. Anyway, both cars, although still somewhat disguised, look pretty much as many of us on here had expected. Does anyone have any idea when they are due to be launched? It’s the last day of official summer today and it’s September tomorrow, so 2023 is racing along! BRM.

If it is mostly front design, headlignt and interior changes, you would not expect high speed Nurburgring testing would be necessary.
The test drivers want to have fun though.

Oh I nearly forgot. All launch announcements always require mention of suspension improvements. Better torsional stiffness and some percent increase for rigidity. That would need extensive high speed testing, even if it is simply a change of rubber bush supplier.

Lol, yes indeed Jon. There’s no point opening up old wounds as the same old stuff has been flogged to death on here in this “cesspit of negativity” but as you say the early main talking points were both the front and the interior, and hopefully both areas will be augmented for the new car. I suspect the power output of the V8 will be increased, maybe closer to 550/600 bhp, and of course the suspension will have to be stiffened up by at least 4000%. But all in all, it looks like it should be another great car, in many ways similar to DB12, so I for one, although not in the market for one, am very much looking forward to seeing what AML come up with. Fingers crossed. BRM.

Still seems like yesterday to me though. I remember really looking forward to that car. Like many, I’d been seduced by the beautiful but flawed previous generation car, had made a few quid in the meantime and had the readies to place an order.

I may not have the official reveal date exactly correct but I think it was Tuesday 21st November 2017, so not quite six years

Number of weeks = 353.57 weeks
Number of months = 81.31 months
Number of years = 6.78 year
Whole year Rounding Up = 7 years

Being side tracked by AP's mother (and others) who had difficulty differentiating a DB9 from a Vantage, the 2018 Vantage was given a radical new look, very different from the DB11.
So, you were ready to place an order. Probably not alone. There was great anticipation.

I guess while we wait for the unveil we have nothing better to do than rehash all that’s been said 1000 times about Marek and Max’s finest. It doesn’t add value. Lots of people did buy them (sorry were given them).

Shame, from all I understand it’s actually a really great car. Palmer & co did nail the engineering. Also it looks very dramatic in the “metal”. It really is/was a stunning if (perhaps) not beautiful car.

The old new Vantage just didn’t/doesn’t photograph at all well, much worse even than DB11. I still haven’t had anyone explain why that is?

I am going to say one thing...colour.

I think AM in trying to attract younger buyers went loud, lime essence is a very marmite colour to start with.

I was on a business trip to Vancouver shortly after it launched and saw a gray hunter grill vantage in the flesh. Was not at all blown away by it, very "meh". I remember thinking how cheap the massive piece of mesh looked in the front.

That lime yellow was a huge turnoff for the unveiling. Those striking colors do work well on a Lamborghini, but on an AM not so much.

were they all sitting in a meeting and talking about the launch and thinking , "ya know, the best way to show off the new car would be a bright off yellow/green" - how did people in that very likely real meeting not think, wait a minute, that's going to look horrid.

There were a lot of issues with the "Newer" Vantage. The intro color probably had very little to do with the negative feedback at the time. (But what do I know, I drive this
