The Aston Martin configurator is now on-line at:

It dosent show Fascia Options or Platinum silver package. That's not good!

Just found out that these options are no longer allowable. Aston want you to spend extra to get a DB9 if you want extra nice fitments. It's a bit like you not being able to get piped seats on a range rover sport but you can on a range rover.

In answer to earlier question, my car was self-spec not AML spec. Hoping for delivery in next couple of weeks - car is apparently built and ready but AM are not releasing them yet.

G55dxb,

You mentioned a while back that you have some high res shots of a tungsten V8 taken outside of Gaydon. I'd love to see them if you could still post them. What was your impression of tungsten on the V8?

As requested, high res (2mb file!) image of Tungsten Silver AMV8 taken outside of Gaydon factory lobby:

The lighting wasn't ideal (dusk) so please compare this to other pictures on the net to judge how accurate it is. I personally picked Mercury Silver over Tungsten Silver, but I think in general Tungsten is the more popular color and is also the one used in the James Bond films.

G55dxb,

Thanks for posting this. I have to spec my car tomorrow and it has come down to tungsten vs mercury silver for me. The pictures you have supplied of both colors have been very helful.

It's too bad you can't go to Gaydon to spec your car. Nothing like walking down the production line and seeing all the various colors on the cars as they are being built...of course my visit to Gaydon was a month after I spec'ed my car but luckily it reaffirmed that I made the right decision.

I take it that it had the piano black facia in the interior? It's pretty shiny!

I put my order in yesterday.

After considering many colors I went with a very common Aston color combo:

Tungsten silver with bright grill and grey calipers. All black interior with fine stitching and standard fascia.

I have a February build date with the car hopefully arriving in Texas in April.

Thank you to all on the forum who took the time to answer my questions and gave their input on various color choices.
