I'm sure they won't call it the DBRS 9 though.....surely just DBS?

Wasn't the DBRS9 the racecar for private teams to buy from Aston? As opposed to the DBR9 which was the factory team?

Nearly, all GT1 cars are called DBR9, customer or team. The lesser (if you can call it that) club racer(??) is the DBRS9.

It does have a DBRS9 badge on it though !?!?!?!

Lovely car but i wish they would make something that doesn't look like a DB7/DB9/Vanquish/AMV8

I was just thinking along the same, i couldn't justify spending any more money on an Aston even though i love the db9. There just to similar looking to me. Maybe i need to drive one to truly appreciate the difference.

Back in the nineties when we had the Virage, DB7, that huge V8 Vantage V600 or whatever it was called were great because there was some sort of variety in how the range looked. I hope someone at Aston realises this for their next car whatever that maybe and do something different.

Don't get me wrong, Astons are beautifull as they are-- But take the Vanquish and DB9 for example, pretty much the same (both great) car but £70,000 difference and they look the same!?!

There was talk of this costing £160,000. That's a massive jump over the standard DB9 at around £110k.

I guess if they limit production to 500 units, it may be worth the premium. Me? I'd stick to a DB9 with the Sports package.

What I really want to see is the next Vanquish. I don't mind that'll use the V/H platfrom from the DB9, but they really need to move the styling on, plus give it 550bhp+, if it's to compete with the Ferrari 599.

The next Vanquish should be an extreme 600hp+ car with more distinctive styling than the previous Vanquish. Should be a match for the Murci and and 599 aswell in speed and price.

Yes, both ALMOST have the same look, but when it comes to drive, they´re completely different, the DB9 is a GT, a long cruiser and the Vanquish S is a supercar. And the same thing happens with the AMV8 and the DBS, the AMV8 is pure sports car and the DBS is a supercar, and I think that it will substitute the Vanq S, right?

Spot on, amdb7. They can keep the name Vanquish though (always prefer cars to have names rather than numbers).

I want an uber-Aston. It still needs to be a front engined car, but with more extreme styling and a massively powerful, normally aspirated V12.

One of these made real (the DBS is nice, but has lost the extreme proportions of this sketch). Add bespoke headlights at the front and four round LED lamps at the rear.

Aston need to forget elegance and extreme comfort for the new Vanquish (to a certain extent anyway!!) We have the DB9 and Rapide and sort of the AMV8 for that. It should be what the Enzo is to Ferrari (except the limited run of course!), a road going monster of a car which has had everything Aston can do thrown at it.

That big V12 they currently use can be pushed quite alot, Aston themselves say 700bhp wouldn't be impossible with it. The current gen Vanquish is a heavy car, and therefor its 0-60 time ect is pretty much obliterated by Ferrari and Lamborghini, but im sure they can make some sacrifices to make this into a MUCH quicker car. Its never needed rear seats for example (What current Aston does!!). I remember on Top Gear JC mentioning that if the car shed half a tonne and had a better gearbox it would be a much better car.
