Do they work?

The rear wings on mine (no mudflaps/stone guards) looks like they've been sandblasted. I have a 12 month service coming up and I either:

a/ Get rear wings resprayed and fit mudflaps (If they'll stop the problem)

b/ Live with it.

Any advice?

TIA

Steve

I have fitted the 'stone guards' and it seems to have drastically reduced the chipping on my rear wing, my advice would be get then from the dealer (£60ish) and fit them yourself....they are really easy to fit, just a small hole to drill for pre 07 cars. You hardly notice them on the car and they also help with muck up the side.

Yep i'd definatly advise them. My dad did'nt have them on his first V8, and the rear arches were very badly chipped. So bad Aston resprayed them under warranty, he's got a new one now with the Flaps and the rear arches are still perfect.

I'd agree with the previous advice - had them fitted on mine since new, and the rear wheelarches don't have a mark on them Plus they don't ruin the looks in any way - you wouldn't notice them unless you were looking for them I'd say.

Here you go...

Interested to hear that someone got their car resprayed under warranty because of the chip marks on the arches. I did about 1k miles before fitting the flaps and there are some marks because of this.

I think it was a bit of a one off, they made out like my Dad was the first to complain. So he just went for it, was a battle but eventually they gave in. They said it was an absolute nightmare, stripped interior etc. I think they sprayed most of the car in the end. Apparantly they won't do it again. Took nearly a year from first complaint to the car actually being done.

(a).

Few pictures of a black car with them at:

You barely notice them.

Though I think one of mine may have discoloured slightly (will check when I'm back).

Thanks for the pictures. They look fine considering the damage they can prevent. Think I'll get some fitted to my car when it's next in dealer.
