Afternoon all,

I realise there are many many parts that differ on these cars, but can someone briefly summarise what if anything on the body or suspension changed?

Cheers,
Bryn.

I'd check the oracle (aka Tim Cottingham's excellent www.astonmartins.com).

V12's had totally uprated suspension and brakes - like a different car. The interior had a minor (but worthwhile) reworking too.

Great stuff, thanks.

So am I correct in thinking that most of the body was revised?

Are the bonnet and front wings the same?

Many thanks,
Bryn.

Nose is different of course, so are the sills, but I think the bonnet (except the lining) and wings are the same. Earlier i6s had much shorter (and nicer) rear bumpers.

From the outside the i6 is IMO the much nicer looking one!!
I haven't yet driven a V12 but I had a short ride in an i6 and believe me it handles perfectly!!! OK, I'll admit I haven't driven much "supercars" yet. But I'm not the only one to tell you that an i6 DB7 is one of the best handling cars ever made.
(sure it is old. and there has been much improvement in the last 15 years. but there are few cars from what I understand that offer you such a perfect combination of comfort and handling. and that’s exactly what the DB7 is meant to be!)

The outside of the I6 is much purer and prettier than the V12, IMHO (and the V12 better looking than the GT). However the drive (and interior) of the V12 is a significant step up (as is the GT over the V12).

Show or go? You pays yer money...

The i6 isn't the best handling car - but it is the best-looking compared to the V12, which imho looks a bit heavy-handed. And if these things matter to you, the straight six has more heritage in that it harks back to the DB models of the 1960s...

There's a limited amount you can do to improve i6 interior but the suspension, brakes, ECU and supercharger can be tweaked to make the car perform much better than it did when it came out of the factory.
