Hi John G1

I've never seen the Emissions Warning light that you mention so, presumably, this is not related to the cutting out issue (which seems to have disappeared with the fitting of the new tank!).

Has anybody else had a new fuel tank fitted....???

Nope, it has not missed a beat since they replaced the fuel tank. Per my last post, the take-up also seems a bit better as well.

It's like driving a totally different car now. I can chuck it into bends reassured that the engine is not going to crap out on me leaving me without those fairly essential items such as steering & brakes....!! If you're in any doubt then I'd be on their case demanding they sort it.

I noticed a dramatic improvement when they replaced the flux capacitor in 2014....!

I continue to use mine on an almost daily basis now and have had no hiccups since the new tank was fitted. That was a couple of thousand miles and she feels just fine!!

The last time mine went in for invetigation they did a software fix. I cannot remember the precise details but it is something to do with the engine management software entering a calibration mode at an incorrect moment. It was maybe something like 'it should only enter calibration mode in 5th or 6th gear under certain circumstances but was entering this calibration mode in 2nd gear when it should not have been.' Sorry I cannot offer more precise details. However, the good news is that since they performed this mod the fault has not reappeared in around 1500 miles of driving.

Just had a look at some old emails. The car was tweaked mid-November. There is a very brief description of the problem - a "coast-down re-learn procedure had lost it's memory. The code was re-flashed and was confirmed as being retained in memory".

As mentioned earlier, i've not had any recurrence of the problem. It may just be worth running that one by the dealer should you experience the problem.

Hello BingoBob

In the case of myself and others it came down to this:

"Just had a look at some old emails. The car was tweaked mid-November 2009. There is a very brief description of the problem - a "coast-down re-learn procedure had lost it's memory. The code was re-flashed and was confirmed as being retained in memory".

Since they tweaked it coming up to three years ago mine has not missed a beat!
