Got a small issue with my handbrake on my 06 plate V8 vantage.

It's releasing and holding the car fine but the light on the dash is flickering on and off, which means I get the annoying "handbrake on" warning "ding".

I really don't want to have to book it into a dealer just for something so trivial but it's starting to be really annoying!

Any quick fix?

usually adjusting the handbrake will sort this out, not difficult to do but will require removal of the rear wheels, on removal of the wheels you can see the handbrake adjusters which are part of the handbrake cables, if you wish to do it yourself or have a local garage carry out the adjustment give me a call and i will talk you/them through it, DO NOT OVER ADJUST!!!!!. you will find my contact details in my profile

Are you short? Ie do you have the seat far forward? We had this for a while when the wife was driving and had the seat forward, this seemed to trap the cable so the sensor thought the handbrake was on even when it was not, we got around it by sliding the seat back a little. The dealer played with something and it was sorted.

Not short no. I've just managed to get booked in for a lunchtime appointment at Aston Works.

Check the hand brake return spring is on the caliper correctly.

i had this and it was a sticky switch. i actually had AM assistance out for an issue and he sprayed something on it to free up the switch and it's not happened since. he did mention that it's a quick thing to change the switch so might be best to just get it replaced.
