Mine is in a different place - on the lower side of the steering column rather than the side. Little rocker switch. Will see if I can get a piccie and figure out how to post it here...

This is probably a very simple mod, I'd very much like to know where the switch is connected? Remove the steering column lower cowl, wire in switch, fit switch onto cowl at your desired location and re-assemble.

So assuming I've removed the cowl where would I wire in the switch - hoping it's not deep in the dash someplace?

Good idea but not much point as you can't see the switch when you are driving.

You'll get a nice red glow! Look forward to more info on fitting, seems a shame not to do it really.

Done it! not that easy, if you are not good at car diy then pay the £300ish is my advice!

used the switch above and this;

retained the fuse and tapped into the cable under the fusebox.

works a treat!

as you have removed the fuse from the fusebox, and wired in directly i presume you have fitted an inline fuse to protect the circuit in the event of a short,
