I guess the problem is that there are always two sides to any story, and the internet is somewhat faceless. And difficult to convey unambiguous meaning through.

The best way to deal with any dispute is to address it directly. And if that doesn't work, and you feel your case is strong enough, pursue it through the courts. If your case isn't strong enough, it's probably not worth posting about and risking causing the owners of the site grief...

Assuming any court judgement goes in your favour, and any settlement doesn't preclude it, posting from there might be an option. But it's probably best to simply invite people to PM you if they ask for an opinion, or simply to note something simple like "avoid".

hi all i have been watching this on here and the amoc, from my point of view i can see the good and bad, my business purely survives on reputation, and the comments on this forum from many of it's members is really appreciated, as this is a relatively small community a negative report rightly or wrongly would have a massive impact on my business,

Any business is only as good as its weakest member of staff, and even the best have bad days, everybody makes mistakes, also things can go wrong later and then it is always difficult to know who is to blame that is human nature, i believe its how these mistakes are handled and rectified, that separate the good from the bad,

As an example we carried out a service on a v8 vantage, we cleared the service warning, the customer was on his way back to london after stopping for petrol saw the warning come back on, now either we had not cleared it properly or there was a glitch who knows, the following saturday with the equipment in the car and a trip to london to put this right, many specialists and dealers will go the extra mile to protect there reputation and offer good service just give us a chance in the event of something not going quite right, if help is not forthcoming then they deserve to be tackled down the legal route,

i spoke to webby on the amoc with a suggestion which i believe he is considering,

What i suggested was a category just for specialists and dealers where they can invite comments on the service they provide and what people would like, if a complaint was raised then only one post from each party to put there side, then the interpretation of the events would be up to the viewers,

Obviously that makes us quite vulnerable to malicious comments from people possibly trying to spoil a reputation but i would be prepared to take this risk,
