I find myself quite liking this colour for the interior

anyone got one and if so do you have issues with reflection in the front screen from the dashboard.

I have some time this weekend so a trip to view may well be in order. It has done 40K + but I only want a weekend car and will probably only put 2.5-3k a year on it.

You do get reflection in the glass, and it wasn’t something I had considered when purchasing my car.. However it is a great colour combination (Tungsten and Kestrel), and even with hindsight, I don’t think it would put me off.
The answer I’ve found is to wear polarising sun glasses..

Well just rang the dealer selling it and what an attitude think I will pass on that one.

It's hard work buying a car these days.

Some car dealers are crazy at the moment.
When i was looking for my Vantage i went into 2 dealer ships in London, 1 was Walton-on-Thames and the other Stratstone in Acton area.
As i am young(ish) they just looked at me kept on with what they were doing.
I had to ask to be served after the sales guys were sitting around having a laugh with each other.
They then promised me a call back however never got one. Just kept looking and travelled up to Leeds to pick my new one up.
Good old car dealers!!!

Storm in a tea cup really...

Just got the impression they couldn't be bothered. Phone was redirected to a mobile and when answered the background noise made it difficult to hear the guy (just move to another room for 2 minutes)

Wanted to arrange a viewing for Saturday but was told to call back Friday to arrange (I am busy Saturday and needed a firm time as it is about 80 miles). Oh yes and the AM Warranty was £2k on top.....

Will someone please take my money in exchange for a car.............. biggrin

Still, waited a long time for an AM so a few more months is not going to make much difference.

By the way I nearly did get one a few weeks ago but was pipped to the post, that was from Dick Lovett in Swindon and they were great, nothing was to much trouble - so you can get a dealer who actually wants to sell the car.

I am in no way affiliated to them but since dealers get a bad show sometimes it is worth mentioning when they come up trumps.

^^Slacker, sounds very familiar! Give Ron a call at Aston Martin Mayfair and tell him that Chris Reynolds told you to call, failing that a good friend of mine speaks very highly of Roger Bennington at Stratton Motor Company.

just shows you, I possibly looked at the same car a few weeks ago? (tungsten) but had a few dinks in the door and bonnet.

anyway the sales guy didn't take me seriously at all, came away very unhappy!

I looked at the Meteorite with cream leather seats. I looked at the Tungsten but side by side I preferred the Meteorite and yes I remember the dink in the door. I dealt with the younger chap and he was great and I only lost out on it because he called me back when I was upto my eyeballs at work and deferred a decision till the next day - so my fault really on that.

But the search goes on and I decided to keep my AMG anyway as I was pondering getting rid of it so suits me better - I can have my cake and eat it. Put it on Pistonheads and had plenty of interest in the first week but test driving it and talking about the car effectiveley sold it back to me so I took it off the market.

Out of interest does anyone know the colour of the DB9 they used on Top Gear for the Monaco race I really do like that colour.

Tell you what I think looks odd about that car. I like the colour of the leather, but surely the steering wheel should match, instead of black. I'm sure it isn't but that makes it look like a replacement.

That depends on whether you get the occasional sweaty palms.....anything other than black can look a mess after a while. I had Ecru (cream) steering wheel on my M3 and it was the only part of the entire interior that looked awful after a year of ownership.

Personally I find anything other than black steering wheels look very odd.

Kestrel looks like Caramac to me. Or a baby's nappy! Wouldn't be my choice to have an interior totally like it. Would need offsetting with some other colour. But can look quite nice with some exterior colours.

By God you are a grubby bunch! If that is the case then you should get the whole dash in black.

I also looked at this car. The interior was a bit tattie with nick in the leather and chips in the door trim. Otherwise it was quite sound. I decided that kestrel looks good but would get on my tits after a while. Have just bought a Tungsten Silver with Iron Ore interior. You should check it out in real life as the colour doesnt photograph well. Its subtle as an interior and not as boring as black and grey!

PS - best decision I've ever made buying a Vantage...
