Wouldn't get one my self, but it seems to fit the image most 4x4 owners want to project. You know, arrogance and intimidation smile.
I would tend to agree, its the type of people these types of cars attract that are the real bug-bare with me not really the cars themselves.

Image is every thing they say, suppose it must be when you've got a tiny c**k.

I don't think the front end is that bad, considering what these things look like i.e. OTT and bling.

But the rear is clumsy, ill-proportioned and contrived.

Makes me think of a rhino humping a hyena.

I'm not in the market for this kind of car but in case it hasn't been stated a sufficient number of times already, the Lagonda is hideous. Where are Callum and Fisker when Lagonda needs them?

The only really classy looking SUV is the Range Rover. Alfa's 2003 Kamal concept still looks great - even 6 years after it was presented. The Volvo XC60 looks OK too.

I quite like it. It's certainly different and kinda chunky.

The big problem for me is that I like it in a Chrysler 300C kind of way, as in a £35k tonka toy but I'm guessing it's going to be £100k+ in which case It doesn't work.

Turning it into a shooting brake would - in my opinion - improve the styling, and would bring into play a small part of Aston Martin Lagonda's heritage.

Lets face it, on this site some V8 coupes and roadsters go down badly, so the fact that a big luxurious 4x4 had got a slating here is hardly a surprise.
Come to think of it, I'm not sure any "4x4" (not counting evos, scoobs, lambos etc etc) has ever gone down well on here...

Ahhhh what the hell is that!? Looks like an even uglier copy of that weird 5 series coupe thing.

Is this what happens when AM designers are made to think....

Marek Reichmann (a Brit) has been the Director of Design since 2005. His career is:

  • Born in Sheffield, England, in 1966.
  • Graduated from Teesdale University in Newcastle with a First Class Honours Degree in Industrial Design
  • Studied Vehicle Design at the Royal College of Art in London.
  • Began his design career in 1991 with Rover Cars
  • Moved to BMW Designworks in California in 1995, to become Senior Designer, and led the overhaul of Land Rover design DNA for future production models most significant of which became the 2003 all-new Range Rover.
  • Returned to the UK in 1998 to establish a London based design studio capable of producing full-size models.
  • Joined Ford in 1999 as Chief Designer for Ford and Lincoln Mercury brands.
  • Rose in Ford to Director of Design for Product, Interior Design Strategy and Process.
  • Joined Aston Martin as Director of Design in 2005.
He is credited (by various sources) with (designing or directing) the DBS, the Rapide, the Rolls-Royce Phantom, the Lincoln MKX Concept and Navicross Concept Cars, and the current-gen Range Rover. I can't vouch for all of those credits.

I like it. I can't see it ever going down well in the UK market, but then It's not likely to get sold here, so it doesn't really matter what we think. This should open up new markets for AML and I wish them the best of luck

nothing to do with an approaching job interview...honest

I've just noticed that it will be built on a Merc GL floorpan, which is not a bad decision considering this has an excellent off-road capability whilst being a very comfortable and yet stable road car.

More interesting, would the use of a GL floorplan open the door to building the Lagonda in the US GL plant in the US, which may well have the capacity at the moment ...
