I bought the Aston Martin Virage from Bonhams yesterday, sweet! smile

Now I need somewhere in London to get it serviced and start work to on it (there are a few things to do), and also some insurance! Any suggestions?

Re servicing, has anyone worked with Aston Service London or Nicholas Mee? They're both on the right side of London for me.

Congratulations! Both are good names. Slightly further afield there is Trinity engineering and RS Willimas, close to the A3. Again, both have excellent reputations.

Any photos?

Here you go. Apologies for the quality - were just taken at the auction and I was nervous so the camera isn't steady!

Looks a lot better condition than the one I had. Insurance - if low miles go classic insurance, very cheap for the power. Stick to open road driving and fuel consumption will be Ok, around town it is horrendous.

Lovely. There are a number of Virage owners on the AMOC forum. You can get plenty of advice there, too.

Congratulations. Whilst maybe not closer than some others mentioned above, Rikki Cann (www.rikkicann.com) is the man.

What a beautiful car. People will cotton on to this soon and values will go up, I reckon. May I be rude and ask how much you bagged her for?

Its listed on the Honhams website. If you're interested, there is the Bonhams aston only auction at newport Pagnall in may. Always worth going to...

Thanks. I checked the Bonhams site but you need to know the lot number to work out which one is the Virage. They did sell something (the very last lot) for £1,739,500 though. Wonder what that was?!

Yes, I've been to the Aston auction at Newport Pagnell many times and pretended that I was a serious buyer (yeah, right). It's like automotive pornography isn't it? Remember the Hunter Aston collection? I'd have bought them all if I had the money! Now, where's that lottery ticket.

Well done, that's a lovely car. All the best with the Aston.
I don't want to put you off but, the definition of optimism is someone who thinks they can just about afford to run an Aston Martin...
biggrin You'll be fine.

A couple of them lurking around here too.

Congratulations Conor.

Rikki Cann is the specialist I would contact first if I were you.

Thanks for the comments guys - I'm certainly excited about using it. Appreciate the comment toohuge tongue out I've set aside £5k pa for maintenance, so hopefully that covers the beast (he says naievely).

Last lot was a Spitfire (WW2 aeroplane, not a small Triumph!), full lot list and prices here http://www.bonhams.com/cgi-bin/public.sh/pubweb/pu...

Looks like you snapped a bargain! Great colour combination as well. I love Virages. Shame the O/H doesn't!

Just do you know, their websit intially just shows lot numbers and hammer price. You can ask it so sort by prices and description, which shows all the relevent details.

Thanks! Let's hope it's a bargain and not a huge money pit. I'll probably know more about the latter when Peter Hamilton at Aston Service London takes a look at it on Saturday morning.
