Alert alert. Is this normal? Its driving me mad. Every single time I drive the car I get the alert. When my car went in for various bits and bobs last week, they supposedly gave me new fobs . No change. I have paired my Iphone but my husband uses the car too so basically its 99% of journeys get the alert.
The dealer says that most of his calls are regarding this.
Why havent Aston Martin sorted this?
Infuriating!!

Apart from that the car is so so cloud9

The fobs on my N400 are useless and were replaced last month (one hasn't worked from new, one intermittently works!).

A known problem ... and pairing with the phone seems to be the only long term solution.

Can you not pair two phones? I thought you could ....

Batteries ran out on my 07 car's fobs a few months ago. So they lasted 2yrs.

I think at least one of the replacements has gone already (though use my phone 99.9% of the time.

I'm sure it must be possible to change the battery oneself. But in your circumstances I'd be having sharp words with the dealer.

Edited to add that these systems (on any car) are the biggest waste of time/con ever.

Had exactly the same problem on my car. spent the first three months of ownership waiting for replacement fobs (replaced under warranty). Since I've had them everything has been ok..

Oh, the dreaded Tracker. In the last year I have had 6 new fobs and a new tracker unit in the car itself and still the alarm goes off nearly everytime I drive. I had my mobile connected to act as a fob but I don't think this is a real solution either, just a work around.

I have noticed that if I start my car from within the garage or an underground carpark etc, the alarm will always trigger; in other circumstances it will sometimes trigger.

I've given up!!!!

Aston Martin Tracking has insurance approvals in all the markets that demand them. For these, it is generally a requirement to have an Automatic Driver Recognition (ADR) function that uses Driver Recognition Devices that are separate to the car keys. To provide this, the car is delivered with two Driver Recognition Tags which are credit card sized transmitting devices that communicate with the tracking system to confirm the driver’s identity independently of the vehicle key.

I contacted my insurance company who advised that as long as the Tracker system remains active, the 'optional' ADR can be turned off. My dealer will be doing this today so no more texts and false alarms!!!

PS I have also arranged a test drive in a V12V smokin

Exactly the same - latest fob 'seems' to work!

I got the car back yesterday, to be told that the ADR could not be deactivated without a new tracker fitted into the car. So, I have two new fobs, which according to the dealer are a new version about 3 months old and since he has been giving them out, no reported false alarms.

Fingers crossed!

Had no problems since abandoning the tags and using a paired phone. In fact, for me it is a far better solution since I no longer have to carry the stupidly thick card. My mobile is always with me ....

It might be worth pointing out (for anyone reading this thread and getting confused!) that this is all related to Aston Martin Tracking and not Tracker, which is a completely different system from another company and was fitted as an option on pre-07(?) cars.

Does anyone use an iPhone for pairing, and if so, does it still communicate ok when plugged into the iPod cable in the centre arm rest?

I had a problem once with the fobs, and on phoning AM Tracking people, they said the fob should ideally be located in the door pocket to prevent comms problems.

I also presume it still pairs ok with the bluetooth phone at the same time?

My Nokia E51 pairs fine and works as normal at the same time as being paired for the AM Tracking unit.

Would one of you chaps be able to tell me how I get my phone paired please.

I have it paired with the car and with its new microphone, it now works pretty well, but how do i get it to act as the tracking tag too?

The quick way is to call Eurowatch on 0207 832 2913 .... see link below ...

https://secure.eurowatchcentral.com/astonmartin/ar...

The handset needs to be multipoint capable - ie able to pair with more than one bluetooth device at a time. The list on the Eurowatch site isn't completely up to date. For example, my Nokia E51 works fine but isn't listed.
